Topic: One Year Anniversary
Well, I too am at the 1 year mark today. Just got home from my 1 year Dr. Appt. Officially, I am down 130 pounds per the scale at the Dr's office. My morning weigh in has me at 134. I will take either!
I am so happy that I did this for myself. It is one of the best things I have ever done for myself.
Much like Aunt Lori, Plastic Surgery is the next thing to look at. My arms are big and the skin just hangs. I will go back to my regular doctor to get a referral for the plastic surgery sections. I have rashes (and smells) under my panni and under the breasts. In addition, I have back aches and shoulder pains -- not sure if that is from the extra skin of the breasts or the skin on my upper arms. Will go for a free consultation and see where we go from here. I would guestimate that I have 20 to 25 pounds of skin that would come off, more if I was looking at doing my legs, but I am not sure if I want to do that. Will let you know how I make out!
Now, I want to thank all of you. Even that I lurk more than I post, I read this board almost daily. I get a lot of positive energy from all of you and I appreciate each and every one of you for that. I never feel like I am going through this alone. My sisters are out there -- even a few brothers. Thank you for going on this journey with me and keeping me company along the way!
Keep up the good work everyone and again, THANK YOU!

Topic: Happy Anniversary to us all!!!!
8/24/06* 226.2/132.1 (-94.1) at 3:49 pm. This is the exact day, hour and minute I was approved for WLS one year ago. I don't know why I looked at my clock just now, but I did and I happen to be sitting in the same spot at work. Really strange. Nevertheless, the absolute happiest day of my personal life, since I was never married or had a child. The scary part is that my surgery was scheduled for the next morning at 6:00am. WOW, what a diffrence a year makes. For anyone who is reading this now, this is the single best decision I have ever made for myself. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you on the OH messageboards and in my local support group. You are my rocks each and every one of you. Because of you, I never felt so alone. YOU ALL HAVE GIANT SIZED HEARTS AND THANK YOU FOR PICKING ME UP EACH TIME I WAS DOWN! Yes, tomorrow is my ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY and it feels so good. I didn't expect to fee this joy right now, but I do.
Thank you all!!!!!
Hugs, Pat

Hi Tammy,
Thanks for posting and letting us know how your sister is doing. It is amazing to remember those first days out a year ago.
Hopefully she will be getting the hang of this soon and not have so much pain.
We had a terrible storm here in Florida yesterday, so I didn't get a walk in. I'm having a yard sale tomorrow and hope to have good weather. I don't know though.
Well, hopefully the exercise will get into gear here soon.

Hi Sue,
Congrats on loosing 89 pounds. That is something to say to people. They are amazed whenever I say that I've lost 98 pounds. I get upset that I'm not at 100 yet, but then I think about where I was a year ago and think, "Wow! I'm doing fantastic."
Usually I quit my diet or whatever program I'm trying by the 4 or 5 month and have gained it all back and more by now. If I were back to my old habits of life, I would probably weigh in at 420 or 450 by now...thank God for this tool. Instead I can say I have lost _____ pounds and be proud of myself.
If all us lightweights thought about that instead of getting down about where we think we should be, I believe I could (almost) throw away my scale.
Well, sorry for the side-bar.
Congrats to you and keep up the good work on your journey!!

Michele,
You look amazing!! It has been a while since I've seen you post and what a difference.
Please do keep us posted about this Ionithermie treat. It sounds interesting.
Congrats on hitting the century club.
I am one pesky 1/2 away from that goal as well. I will be treating myself to a message when I hit it. I have had one since Jan 2005, so I think it is a good reward for me.
Take care and continue toward your goals on this journey...
