Topic: Getting worried....a little long...
I have not lost weight in about 4 months. I'm not complaining...too much...as I've lost 130 pounds since surgery. My weight is fluctuating and I've been stuck at the top of that fluctuation for quite a while. I know we are able to eat more as time goes on. And lately, I feel like I can eat A LOT. I don't get hungry at all. I eat because I need to. But I sometimes feel like since I'm not hungry and eating anyway, that I'm just doing what I did before I had surgery. I ate all the time...most of the time I wasn't hungry. So I feel like I'm setting myself up for failure.
Tonight, for dinner, I ate a cup of cottage cheese with 4 whole beets. I also ate a cup of grilled veggies. I realize that most of that food is not very dense fod. I normally eat meat and veggies for dinner. Tonight was an exception. I guess I just feel like that is way too much food, volume wise. For lunch, I ate half a wrap, but really felt like I could've eaten the whole thing. For breakfast, I had 4 small sausage links. About an hour and a half later, I ate a whole bagel with cream cheese. A week or so ago, I could only eat 1/2 a bagel and felt very full. Not today. This is really scaring me.
I don't have any pains or anything like that. I just feel like I can eat too much. I've been told to call my surgeon. But what do I say? I did call my nut and then saw her a week or so later for my one year follow up. They pretty much said I'm right on target and not to worry. I'm not sure what I should do, if anything, but be patient. What do you guys think?
Thanks, Tina

HEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
It's great to see you back online. We've missed you. HMMMM, what am I eating lately???? Well usually a piece of quiche for breakfast, a lean cuisine for lunch & whatever the family has for dinner. some kind of meat, veggie & carb if there's room. I do snack. Sometimes good, sometimes not good. I like to have my 100 calorie popcorn, sf choc pudding etc. I've been on a fruit kick lately. The grapes, watermellon & plums are just soooo tastey lately. I'll grab a few crackers or chips here & there as well. I'm not sure what my calorie intake is, but I would guess around 1000 - 1200. Could be more. My weight has been really slow. It's taken me like 5 months to lose 10 lbs...but hey, that's ok. I feel great & have been wearing the smallest size in clothes that I've ever worn in my adult life. My sister, Debra Harlander, posted a bariatric food pyramid, on this messege board, that I think will be very helpful to all of us. Check it out.
Good luck with your nutritionist. Let us know how it goes.

Topic: Monday's Gym How We all Doing???
Good Morning To Everyone.....
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was good. I decided, on a whim, to let the girls have a sleep over party on Saturday. We had 11 teenagers here. It went very well. I went to bed at around 11:30 & didn't hear much from any of them after that. I didn't get any exercise in yesterday, but did get up in the chilly 40 degree weather (
winter is fast approaching) & rode the bike for 3 miles. It was like 5:45 this morning & still dark out. Can tell it's almost time to set the clocks back. My weight is doing good... Think I broke the teeter totter of 182-183.5. I was 178 this morning. It'll sure be nice when I can say Good Bye to the 180's forever
.... Not yet, though, I'm sure.
I've had some wow moments lately. I bought a pair of levi's 515 boot cut jeans (extremely comfortable) in Maryland last month, size 14. I tried on both 14 & 12's & figured well, the 12's fit, but were a little snug, so I went with the 14s. WELL.... should have taken the 12s because I'm constantly hiking up the 14s & they're really looking baggy on me. I went to JC Penneys last week & slid on a very comfortable pair of 12's. Yesterday, I stopped at Fashion Bug just to see what their Fall line was like & decided, what the heck, lets try on a couple of pairs of their LA Blues Boot Cut Stretch Denim jeans. Low & Behold, I fit into both a 10 & 12. YES, I said a 10!!!!! WOOOO HOOOOOOO. They didn't feel tight at all, I think because of the stretch in the denim. They did look a little tight though. Think I may get them just because I don't think it'll be too long before they look GOOOOOD.
I'm in total shock... Never in my life would I ever imagine wearing a 10. I believe I said I'd be happy in a 14. YIPPEEEE...... Especially, not when I'm very quickly hitting my 39th B-Day.... (the 13th of this month)
I do want to make a special note to HONOR and REMEMBER all of the Hero's & victims of the 9*11 tragedy 5 years ago. I certainly remember the events of that day like it was yesterday. I hold the utmost respect for everyone involved during that time & all of those women & men who continue to fight for our freedom and protect us including all of our Military, Firefighters, Policemen, EMT's etc etc etc.... Each & everyone are hero's.
My sister & I went to see The World Trade Center movie yesterday. It was an amazing movie. It just really puts things into perspective of that terrible day. May God Continue to Bless America & protect each & everyone of us.
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY & WEEK
((((HUGS)))) &
Tammy

Topic: RE: Sept 30, 2007 OH Cruise...hmmm
Hi Kathy,
I agree with Tammy, you look wonderful!! Don't you hate being a teacher sometimes? I teach junior high and I would love to go on any number of themed cruises, but they're ALL during the school year and getting the time off (though a week would be a bit hard) isn't the problem, it's paying for the substitute that is! That makes my cruise prices a $120 day more than the base cruise price.

Topic: RE: Bariatric Food Guide Pyramid
Hi Debra,
Thank you for the info. I was planning on getting the book just for the extra-post op life. Was the book overall good? I have an even harder time balancing my diet as my doctor's orders are 75% protein and 25% everything else! I obviously don't always make it.

Topic: RE: plastic surgery consult
Hi Amber,
You look great! How did you make your picture change between before & after? Very cool. I play with idea of plastic surgery, but for me I expect that it will be classified as cosmetic and insurance won't pick up a dime, so I haven't gone as far as looking for a surgeon since I don't have the money. If money was no object though I'd be getting breast-thighs done. I look in the mirror and I still see fat stomach, fat thighs and really droopy breasts/butt. Oh well, that's what bras and clothes are for.
Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Wow Pam!!!
You look great and I'm glad you're happier than you look as you should be!!! I wish I could have said I was MIA due to computer issues. I just went MIA due to mental issues. The blahs... I'm glad I'm back.

Topic: RE: Wednesday & Thursday Exercise
Hi Tammy,
I went for an hour long walk around the arboretum on Thursday with a friend. I sure look forward to the temp to get into the 70s instead of the 90/100s it's still at. Since school for me started last week I'm struggling getting in my exercise. I'm going to have to force myself back into the gym before work. UGH!!

Topic: RE: Hello???
Hello,
Thanks for the reply. My ultrasound showed no stones so I get to long any and all 'attacks' and if I have another bad one I'm to call the nurse. Realizing that I can go anywhere from tomorrow to never with another attack, it's still annoying. If there had been stones it would have been a done issue. A whole lot easier. As far as the weight goes... lost most of the water weight - now only 2 lbs over goal. Gotta love the rollercoaster. Sorry to hear you're still struggling with that landing. You still seem upbeat and that's great. Be sure to let me know what your doc says.
