Help! I'm 7 1/2 months out of surgery, 128 pounds down and I can't stay motivated to count calories/fa****er or to exercise regularly. I really want to lose 60-70 more pounds, but I can't seem to get it going again! Chocolate doesn't make me sick (lucky me?!), and I can't control it. Any words of wisdom?? Kristen

Hi Kristen, Been there, do that - especially in the area of chocolate. You hold the power to be successful or not. You obviously know what you should be doing. Therefore - the biggest word of wisdom I have for you is remove the word 'can't' from your sentence. Repeat it to yourself as often as necessary until you believe it. To help, you're obviously more than welcome to join us August surgery folks - we're a very supportive group - on our exercise and goal posts, but you may want to join the Sept. group since you're about a month behind us. That way you have a instant gage with folks in your same timeline, not that 30 days probably makes a big difference as even in our group you have those like me who hit 9 months yesterday and other folks who just hit 8 on Sunday. Oh! Final thought for you. Last month at support meeting we were asked the following question. "What did you want from having the surgery?" Truely answer that question for yourself and I bet you'll find some internal help to get back on program. Dawn 258/139/135

Hi Kristen I went to your profile to gain some insight on your journey- but you haven't posted anything..so its difficult giving advice when there is not very much to know about you or what problems you've encountered. But looking at the lack of postings, I would bet you are not keeping a record of what you are eating and setting fitness goals. Very simply, chocolate is not the culprit, its just something you are allowing to come between you and your future success. There may be a lot of emptiness or stress that is causing you to overeat or influencing your choices. You need to get back to basics: PROTEIN FIRST. 64OZ WATER/FLUIDS. FRUIT/VEGGIES + 2SNACKS Weather is nicer- with -128lbs you should be active. Exercise and weight training raises your metabolism, so I would look to increase those areas. I've only lost 101lbs- but my cardio has tripled from 30mins to 90mins, at various levels and speeds + weights. I would recommend joining mine or Tammy's posts for exercise & goal setting. Tammy has managed to help us stay on track and having a monthly goal, is having a map. Like everything else- you benefit by what you put into it. If your "tool" is not put to use for maximum results, your surgery only takes you so far. The rest IS UP to YOU! Donna 325/224/145
