Finished 5 mile walkathon
Hi Everyone,
Hope your having a good weekend so far. I just had to tell ya'll about me walking 5 miles today. First of all I was fighting with myself this morning about doing the walk. I was trying to talk myself out of doing it but at the last minute I decided I needed to do something for myself. It took me 1 hour and 22 minutes to finish the walk. And it gave me time to think about somethings I really need to do around the house and things I need to change in my life. After the walk was over I felt good about what I had accomplihed today and I'm really proud of myself. It's funny because before the walk I weighed myself on the scale and it said 204, and after the walk I came home and weighed again the scale drop 4 pounds. I hope the scale wouldn't lie to me. (SMILE)
Ya'll take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Great Job
I've been doing 3 miles a day & love the time. Although today it was raining major out there so no walk. hmmm, talking about that, I didn't post the exercise post for today.. I'll combine 2 tomorrow.
Anyway..... One time I read that you shouldn't weigh yourself first thing in the morning, you should wait an hour or so & it seems if I weigh myself before my walk, I'm always a pound and a half to 2 pounds lighter when I get home... Of course I keep that number
Anyway...keep up the great work...... I'm sooooo proud of you

I went to the informational Seminar the first week of January - my surgery was April 7th. I did have some of the pre-op requirements already done (i.e., the sleep study, documented weight loss effort for the previous year) from being with Kaiser, that they were able to use. I think I was actually approved at about mid February.

Carolyn!
Congratulations!! Motivation is one of my big things, and everyone here will tell ya that..so its great that you noticed the inner dialog- but whats even better is what you learned! Not so much about the scale - but that you moved beyond the negativity and didn't hold yourself back!
to you !! I was very happy to see you overcome your challenge. Keep in mind we are challenged by life all the time..and (diet) is just one aspect.. on a larger scale, I hope you trust your instincts the next time and just break through whatever roadblock you have, because as you have demonstrated, not only can you DO IT, the reward is satisfying
you achieved something you struggled with AND your scale jumped in agreement! I'm not so sure about them, they are trickey little things!
Thanks for sharing this, you made my day. Come and post more often!!
