I have to go into tomorrow to go through x-ray testing. just wondered if I was alone out here with this problem or if anyone can sympathize with me I tell you the attack was awful I was at work and didn't know what the heck was going on for sure just knew that out of the blue I was in some major pain! Diana, Personally, I have not had any gallbladder issues. My sister had to get hers removed when she was 6 months post op. Sorry to hear what you're going through. Even though I haven't gone through it, I still sympathize for you. Hope everything goes well tomorrow. Keep us posted Tammy

Hi Diana - Im sorry to hear this and understand its not uncommon to happen. My surgeon did the radiology preop- to view the liver as well as my gallbladder. U could have picked me up off the floor- at the 2nd consult- when he said my gallbladder had to be removed as well..I was stunned to discover my gb was riddled with stones- and was coming out with the RNY. I've had no problems or complications with food with it gone. Here is what he told me and perhaps this will help you: As we grow heavier everything grows with us - and as we lose weight- everything shrinks including our organs - so if I had not elected to have the gb removed then- he told me following surgery I would be in some terrible pain- because of the stones and my gb getting smaller..And I think its common with people who have lost weight and gained and lost it again- that it comes out eventually - for that reason. AND if it makes you feel any better - My cousin is an MD and her husband is an OB-GYN..two smart people...when their 20 yr old daughter went on her college diet (monitored by her dad) she lost the weight and then had nautious attacks and doubled over all the time.. Guess what? Gall bladder had to be removed at 20..neither doctor knew the cause till the radiology..so that being said.. it happens - but know that you are in MUCH better health now- than you were last year- and your recovery will be different than your RNY. Hugs, Donna
