Thanks. I get that alot. People do not recognize me at all. I think it is crazy cuz when I see myself I do not see me as really looking too different at all. Do you ever feel that you do not see yourself as others are seeing you? I think alot of my issue is my stomach and the skin I have. I hate it. I am more self conscience now then I was 130 lbs heavier. Any suggestions for that?

Hi Kate- Im not sure I understand- you mean the size of your stomach or do you have leftover skin? I'm still carrying my weight in my stomach area and I have @ 80lbs to go- so I don't know how the weight loss will affect how I look..I exercise a lot and I build muscle with weight training..weight work may help to tighten you up..I find it all a very slow process in general..but faster thanif I had attempted to do this without surgery..I def would have gained some of my weight back by now- because I would have been tired and given up..so its important to keep things in perspective..you can also go to the WLS Grad board- and ask them for suggestions..Everyone there, especially Dx, is very helpful. ..Inside Im still the same, and I finally see my authentic self surfacing..andits interesting to see how (people who dont know me) perceive me.. Do U plan on losing more weight? Hugs, Donna

Kate, You look AWESOME.................. So young...... You probably hear that alot too.... Sometimes I have to go back & look at my before pictures to understand what people are saying. Not sure if its the fact that I don't really see myself looking a whole lot different, or if it's the fact that I totally blocked the "old me" out of my head never to see that person again.... At any rate.............YOU GO GIRL Keep up the great work Tammy 291/284/198/145

Kate, You look incredible! We are almost exactly alike in everything...starting/current weight, surgery date, etc. I was 323 day of surgery, but began the journey at 344. I know exactly how you feel with the 'image in the mirror'. I cannot for the life of me see a major change in my appearance. I still have a rather big lower tummy and I know it is just the excess skin. I also have huge thighs that seem to actually be bigger now than before...again, probably just the excess jiggly skin. The one thing that has helped me 'see' the real me is to look at the profiles here of folks who are the same height/weight as me. And if I look anything like you...WOW! Funny how despite going from a 26/28 to 14/16 and some XL's doesn't register! Go figure! Keep up the great work! Toni
