Plateau Busters Diet
Hi August Mates,
I just gave advice to Kim to start the plateau busters diet and to look ahead for it on the view old posts. But it has gotten too far ahead and I wanted to post it again so she doesn't have to go looking for it.
Hope it helps all who are struggling right now. It did for me. I am refocused and ready to go again!

Here is a copy of the diet to jump start you if you have hit a plateau.
HOW TO BREAK A PLATEAU
#1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau
#2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day
#3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day
#4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day
beef
pork
chicken
turkey
lamb
fish
eggs
low fat cheese
cottage cheese
plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?)
peanut butter
beans/legumes
You may also have:
sugar free popsicles
tea or coffee
sugar free soda
sugar free jello
broths/bullion (sp?)
crystal light drinks
#5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!!
#6 - Keep a food diary (I used fitday.com) and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily
Lori- are you sure about the soda? I gave up s/f soda over a year ago - way before surgery- because I understood- the carbonation stretches your pouch. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone- who is having problems losing weight- it can have them gain more..
I know you just copied the diet list - Im just pointing it out- for the benefit of anyone reading this. Its best if you have anything with no carbonation.
I won't even drink carbonated water.
So anyone following this diet- should tread lightly with the soda thing
thats just a suggestion.

Hi Donna,
I just copied the diet from around page 4 of the view older posts. I don't drink soda, haven't since Jan 05 because it is just too bad for anyone physically.
I mainly drink water. On occasion ice tea (decaf) or crystal lite. Nothing else for me.
This is not my diet. I know that i have seen it on the main message board and the Florida board as well. I think some doctors are ok with WLS posties drinking it, but I don't. I would suggest checking with your doc before to make sure.
Thanks for pointing that out. I just kept it as it was originally. But if you don't do it now, I wouldn't add it in. I think it is for those who do drink it and I would make sure to get my 2 quarts of water in first anyway. Then there is usually no room or time to drink anything else anyway.
Hope this helps.

As far as the soda goes- I forgot it is individual You get so used to your routine and that it works for you and with you ( thank God) that when you see something else..I immediately pick it out..Honestly- the one or two times Ive actually sipped diet soda- in this past year - I hated it- I can't believe I drank it for so many freaking years! GIVE ME PROPEL!!
