Loss of Energy???

I've been having symptoms similar to what Rita wrote about recently. When I went to the gym Tuesday AM, I felt like I did when I started! Very little energy and everything was an effort. I was also sweating much more than normal. Then as my workout went on, I kept getting dizzy. My trainer got concerned and cut our session short. The only thing I did differently that morning was to drink my protein shake in the car on the way. So I called the Doctor's office and spoke to the PA. The only thing she could come up with is that maybe I drank the protein too fast. I didn't want to hurt her feelings, by saying that I always drink (and eat) too fast! Tuesday and Wednesday, I just felt like I was dragging. I even had to go back to taking a nap. This morning I went to the gym again, although my trainer wasn't there. I left after 1/2 hour because I just didn't have the energy and was really sweaty. No dizziness, but I only did the easy stuff. I'll call the Doctor again if it happens tomorrow. I think this sounds similar to what Rita described, although I've no idea what my blood sugar was (I'm not diabetic). Does anyone have any suggestions? My son just thinks I'm crazy, he may be right! I haven't changed anything, which is why I'm so mistified! I'm taking my vitamins, drinking my water (I could always get more, but haven't had any less than normal) and getting enough protein.

Hey Michelle! This does sound like you may be having drops in your sugar level. It is not real unuasal for people to develope low blood surgar after this sugar...so if you continue to feel this way, you probally will need to see your doctor, PCP, internist or Nurse practioner...good luck! Nancy

Michele, it sounds to me you need some labs done to atleast rule some things out. from your post your experience was different from mine. Mine was sudden, but only lasted a few minutes, and once I ate everything came back to normal.... Fatigue could be caused for so MANY reasons: dehydration, Vits/Mineral defficiency, anemia, thyroid hypofunction, and hypoglycemia are just a few that could easily ruled out by simple blood test. You can adress all this with your PCP, and they will know what to do. Best wishes to you, Rita

Hi Michele, I feel great workout hard and need less sleep. I take my vitamins and protein and I also take Juice Plus. The Juice Plus has helped me with energy and there is a bariatric doctor *****commends that his patients take it. If you would like info on it go to www.pat4jp.com my friend will answer any questions you have she is very knowledgable. I first heard of this product in my support group a women that was 3 years post op raved about the products so I thought I would try them I have so much energy and require less sleep then ever. I run almost 3 miles 3 times per week and workout every day.. Hope this helps but I would check with your doctor also. Diana 263/168/135
