Hi All, Have a personal question for all of ya. I know we had one lady who hadn't had hers since going off birth control, but have any of you noticed the time between shortening? I used to be 28-32 days pre-op, but mine have been getting steadily shorter - till starting today's is only 24 days since the last one! I don't know if it's because I'm almost 43 and starting peri-meno; a post-op thing; or a combo.

I have always had really bad periods. They seem to be even heavier now! I can't take any kind of hormonal birth control because of a rare liver disease I have, so I am stuck! I am getting a copper IUD next month and the doctor says they could get even worse. I always lose 3-5 pounds on my period. My time between since surgery has been as short as 27 days and as long as 45 days (back in october).

I had an IUD for 12 years and my periods were HELL! It felt like I was having a baby every month for 12 years. It's nice to not worry about birth control but you have to be willing to have the terrible cramps and heavy periods. It might be different for you.... I hope so! Good luck with that! Lori PS Dawn, my periods have been alot lighter since surgery. Right afterwards, I had a really heavy one but ever since, they have been really light and lasting only 4 days.

Oh my God.. now I am scared LOL Was this a copper IUD or hormonal one? It's my only option besides tubal ligation, which I would be up for, but I wanted to try the IUD before I opted for another surgery right now. I hate not being able to take hormones

Clarissa, I didn't mean to scare you honey! I just wanted you to be aware. I am also unable to take anything hormonal. Gives me migraines. My hubby got snipped so we don't worry anymore. And I loved the IUD, with exception of the bad periods. You do get used to it after a while. Lori

Hi Dawn, I've had a few months where I've spotted for a week & then would really have it for another week, but it hasn't been every month. I've continued to be pretty normal though. Tammy

Hi Dawn, I have been regular since I was on birth control to help regulate me. I went off BC and life was like clock work for me. I usually start on a Wed and its over by Sat. However, since the surgery, I can't figure out when I'm going to start. I thought I had it figured for this month and it started a week later and it was on Friday through Sunday. Since being on BC they shortened quite a bit for me. They lasted no longer then 5 days, now they last for 3 with the middle being the heaviest and it isn't that bad for me. I am also 46, so like one of the other posts, I not sure if it is peri-mono or due to the surgery. Lori 293/213/135(my goal)/130(surgeon's goal)

I have noticed mine getting closer and closer together also. I was always regular every 28 days before WLS now they are changing. I just turned 34. I also noticed they are heavy one month, and light the next. And one month it last 2, 3 days, the next 5, 6 days. D. White
