Tell me about your vitamins??
Hey everyone!
I was just wondering if you could tell me what vitamins you take and the amount. I know my bloodwork is coming back great and they told me to even cut back on my B complex because my B12 level is so high, but I am just concerned that I may not be getting enough.
I take:
2 Flintstones (generic) chewable multi-vitamins
2 500mg Vitamin C's
2 1500mcg Biotin (for my hair and nails...has helped)
1/2 dropper full of B complex
1 600mg Calcium with A&D
Please let me know how this adds up to everyone else so I know if I need to increase or add anything.
Take care and God Bless!
Nancy
Nancy,
You're doing great with your vitamins... Still taking the flinstones I see. Did you know that centrum makes chewable adult vitamins with iron? They're not bad either. If you decide to take them, you should take 2 daily. I ordered the vista vitamins from bariatriceating.com. They have everything in them that you need. I really like them. They are not chewable, but they are small capsules. They are packaged in AM & PM packages. You take 4 each time. I questioned the calcium & the iron together & they said there is a protein base in the vitamins that tricks the system into digesting both the iron & calcium. I still worry about the calcium so I take 3 viactives daily too. I know we should be taking calium citrate, but they don't make chewable citrate & the others are too big. I tried to take the caltrate...wow......WAY TO big... I just had my blood work done last Friday so we'll see how everything turns out.
Keep up the great work
Tammy
Hey there Tammy, Just wanted to let you know in case you hadn't heard....they DO make chewable calcium citrate now! It is made by Citracal and comes in four flavors. I bought the chocolate fudge and it is pretty good. 500mg of calcium citrate in each piece. They look like a piece of chocolate so I feel like it is a treat everyday.
btw, congrats on breaking the 200 pound barrier!!!
Diane,
Where are you finding the calcium citrate chewables? I would love to try them. Bariatricadvantage.com has some that are really good. If you suck on them they're not too chalky. I've had the chocolate, mint & cinnamon. If you have a chocolate & peppermint, they're yummy. Would rather be able to buy them in the store though. If you could let me know about the calcium citrate, that would be great.
Thanks
Tammy
Hi Tammy,
The calcium chews are by Citracal and come in a box like the Viactiv does. I found them at Target and others have said they found them at Walmart. The box is blue and the product is called Creamy Bites. Each piece has 500mg of Calcium Citrate and 200IU of Vitamin D. They are 35 calories each with 4grams of sugar but that is not enough to bother me in the least. I only take one a day and use my Building Blocks Calcium pills to make up the rest of my required daily dose. I love the variety of the different types of calcium I use everyday. Some people have dismissed the Creamy Bites because of the calories or the sugar, but I figure if I simply used them in combination with my other calcium, it wouldn't be enough calories to matter. The four flavors they come in are Chocolate Fudge, Chocolate Mint, Creamy Lemon and Creamy Caramel. I have only tried the Fudge ones but look forward to trying all of them!
Hope you can find them!!
Diane
Thanks Tammy! Sounds like I am on the right track...I have used different vitamins, but went back to the Zoo Chew (Flintstones generic) due to pricing...I have used the viactiv in the past in the mutiple vitamins and the calcium.
Take care and I am right behind you coming to onederland!

HI Nancy,
Every day I take:
1 dropper B-Complex (get at Walmart)
2 Centrum Silver Chewable Multi-vitamins (one in AM, one PM- Walmart)
1 Biotin (not sure of size - Walmart)
3 Vivactiv Calcium (Sam's club - take these mid-day before dinner)
That is it. You should be getting Vitamin C in the multivitamins. I find that the Vivactiv is a really good way to get the Calcium and it is like a little chewy treat when I get home from work!
Keep up the good work!

Hey Eileen!
Sounds like we are taking simular...the reason I take the extra C is I always had a very weak immune system and I did not get sick this year and I think this really helped!
I have used the Viativs in the past and they are a tasty treat. They come in multiple vitamins as well.
Take care and you keep up the great job you are doing!
