Day 20 Exercise
Hi Ladies
Hippie.....THANKS SOOOOO MUCH for posting for day 18 & 19...you're AWESOME.....
The weekend was wonderful... the Lodge is sooo beautiful. It has such an Adirondack feel. We all had so much fun. It was such a great feeling to actually wear a size 16 bathing suit & be in front of everyone without feeling like a beached whale. I went on the water slides like a little kid. Very Very fun... Great break from all the stinkin snow we've gotten over the past week.
I will tally everyone's exercise tomorrow. My brain is in la la land today. I see alot of posts, too, that I want to reply too. I'll get to those tomorrow too. Sorry, girls...I need a vacation from my vacation ...
Anyway, exercise was good. Lynn, I tried the elyptical...WOW GIRL, that sucker is a work out. Saturday I did it for about 3 minutes at level 3 & thought I would die. Sunday, I forced myself to do at least 1 mile. I went 7.8 mph & it took me like 6 or 7 minutes. Not quite sure because the A.C. in the fitness room at the Lodge was out of order & it was like 85 degrees in there. Once I hit 1 mile, I bolted out the door to get air.... There were 4 flights of 17 steps to get up to the water slides & we went on them probably 20 times while we were there. They had a huge lazy river that made a huge circle around the water park. Me & my daughters raced around there...God knows how many times.... Tha****er running is quite a workout. Our room was on the 3rd floor & I used the stairs the entire time of our stay.... Not sure what the scale is gonna say tomorrow cause I didn't eat alot this weekend. Hopefully, my body wasn't holding on to everything because of all the exercise I did. Guess we'll see in the morning.
At any rate... All I kept thinking was "Man, this time last year, I would be too embarrassed to even put a bathing suit on & would have missed out on all this fun"... There was a larger woman having a really hard time getting out of one of the raft rides & I had major flash backs. I told my daughter, that poor lady....that would have been me if I didn't have surgery & had the courage to try the ride....
I'm soooo, sooooo thankful for this tool... Can't wait for summer to do the outdoor water parks & amusement parks... I'm more of a kid now than I was when I was a kid...
How did everyone do today????
I'll post some pictures when I get them into my computer from the weekend....
Until tomorrow
Tammy
Hey Tam! Sounds like you had an awesome time! What fun! And GREAT JOB on the exercising while you were away! That is so fabulous!
Can't wait to see the pics! Oh yeah, and I will have pics posted sometime tomorrow of my daughter and her date! They looked sooo cute together! I feel love in the air... he is a sweetheart and perfect gentleman... she is in LOVE!
For those who don't know and asked me.... a Tolo is a dance that isn't Prom but it's still semi-formal. So yes, we had to buy yet another dress... I told my daughter that someday I WILL fit into those dresses so they will get worn more than once!

Hi Tammy
I had introduced myself this weekend on this board. I'm happy to find others who had surgery the same time I did. I've met some very nice people here.
Lori told me to join in on the Exercise post, so here I am....
Today my excerise was a brisk 25 minute walk, I would have walked longer but getting dark out. 3 times a week I go to water aerobics at my gym. And when I cannot make it, I walk.
I read your profile, its beautiful and you are doing a wonderful job. Looking great.
I relate to what you said about wearing bathing suit. Its alot easier now that I'm weighing alot less.
Have a nice evening,
Priscilla
Hi Priscilla......
Welcome & GREAT TO MEET YOU........... So happy that you found us August girls & joined our exercise challenge.... Lord knows, it keeps me going.
Thanks for the comments on my profile. I think it's so darn important to keep a written journal of this life changing experience. I never want to forget from where I've come.
Take Care

Hi Tammy,
Glad you got to have such a nice break. It sounds like a lot of fun. I finally feel well enough to go back to the gym. I did 20 minutes on the treadmill (various speeds & elevations) and 20 minutes on a cross-trainer recumbent bike (level 6). Yesterday was my chance to get in touch with nature a bit. We had a really nice weekend break from the rain so I got to go walk the river trail. 5 miles in an hour and 15 minutes. Since these were my first 2 days of exercise after a month of being sick there are some muscles that aren't too happy, but oh it feels good to be exercising again.

Hi Tammy,
Sounds like you had a great time. Well I've been lazy since friday but it's time to get back on track. I gain 1 pound yesterday so that puts me back at 206. I hope to lose 2 pounds by the 30, that will be my 7 month anniversary and will be a 80 pound drop for me. I don't know if I will walk today because it has gotten cold here in fort Worth today. The temp started out 38 degrees this morning and it's around 45 now. I'll have to ride my bike tonight while I'm watching american idol. Well I have to go I'm at work.
Take care, Carolyn (Jc C.)
Glad to hear that you had a good time on your trip. I can't believe you were sprinting on the elliptical! I do a "slow burn" lol! I keep to 3.5-4.5 mph with short bursts of 6.0 mph on commercials, lol! Well, I didn't exercise at all over the weekend or on Monday...Shame on me. I'll be back on track Tuesday!
