Hi Nancy..Nice to meet you..simply amazing..we are 1 day apart
and have so many things in common!! like starting weights.. how tall are you? Im 5-3 and had something like a 55% BMI and now its down to like 40%, which is a gift anyway you take it! So my LONG range goal is to reach a 23-25% BMI whether thats 135/145 or 155- it doesn't matter to me what the scale says, I just want to be my healthiest ( and sexiest) body for the next 25 yrs!!
I read your "BIO" - how is your husband doing since his surgery? And I have one son- 21- same age range as yours- and I love cats- and yours are too cute! Mine is a black with some white under his neck- his name is Tuxedo
and he is the grandson of my original cat, I called "Sister" who shared my life for 10yrs..she was a Maine Coone, with about 12lbs of fur! LOL
How are you doing protein wize? I have just returned to drinking protein shakes 2x a day.. and they are not bad..I think Im going to begin a "recipe posting" where we can post our favorite drinks or shakes or dinners.. I think it would be SOO ... so If you see it- join in and post and share your favorite!
OH YEA- CONGRATULATIONS ON HITTING 100LBS! WAY WAY
Continue your journey and continue to inspire us all.. and by the way- I loved your web page desgn- some very beautiful poetry (writer here) and
enjoyed it all.. remember to look for my post next week- when it says - WEEK 1- and we hit the day to day of goal setting.. I hope everyone logs in and stays with it.. we will all learn so much!

Hey Donna..
Yep...only one day apart for our new birthdays! Yeah ...I am taller than you..I am 5'8" and started out at around 47.6 BMI and as of today I am down to 30.4...almost just overweight!! Another milestone to celebrate. Thanks for the congrats on the 100lbs...I was tickled about it myself.
Hubby is doing better, still having trouble getting all his fluids and protein in, but better than before. I told him I can't do the hospital thing again, so he better behave and do better!
I love my kitties. I have had many in the past and lost them to old age. I had a brown tabby, my first on my own cat, Tiger...He was awesome and HUGE...he weighed about 25lbs. at his heaviest. But he was a BIG cat...my Dad said he looked more like a bobcat than a house cat I also love my doggies...the cats get the back of the house and the dogs get the front of the house...their own space!
I have been working on protein intake...some days I do better than others. I have not been doing quite as many shakes and trying to get it with my foods. I also eat protein bars. I think the recipie posting is a great idea!
You are an awesome person to come up with this goal setting...it will help encourage us all! I look forward to seeing us all meet or exceed them!
Thanks about my profile. I had some help from OH and an online buddy with my webpage and I found it and the poems myself. I have learned how to do more and more with it as time goes, but I do not post as often as I did pre-op. I try to post every month now. I also need to put some new pics up...I have really dropped weight since the last one there.
Take care and keep on doing great!
God Bless and to you!

Hey Donna...
I'M IN....
Let's see goals for April........... Hard to pick since I hit ONEderland today yippee....
Here we go:
* Get under & stay under 195
* Continue to exercise 5-7 days a week
I'm think of others, but that's all for now
Thanks for starting this Donna...we're all sooo much fun on this board
Tammy
Girlfriend!! You and Lori, Diana, Dawn and everyone have been the best support.. sometimes we just overwhelm ourselves and its nice to get back to day to day focus..and I find that works for me..
LIKE TODAY..even though Im getting my iron infusions later today..Im going to get my butt in the gym tonight..Im even looking into a GOLDS GYM membership- I found its open 24hrs or even midnight most days..Im tired of being thrown out of my gym by 10 or 11pm, when I cant get there till 8, and Im not the morning person..maybe that will be my goal for MAY as the weather gets nicer and days are longer
Next week I'll start WEEK 1 and then we can all post how we are managing the first week to goal..I really like that idea.. having something to look forward to.. its all the little steps you take, that help you make the large hurdles!
hugs,
Donna
I want to do this too...good idea...
By April 28th I will...
* Lose 13 lbs - I am currently at 224 and my goal is to be under 200 by Memorial Day - so If I could lose 13 lbs in April and 13 in May...I would be under 200 by Memorial Day.
* Go to Curves 3 times a week and walk 3-4 times per week.
* Continue to take my vitamins & supplements and eat my 60 - 100 grams of protein daily and enjoy each and every day of my new healthier life!

Hi Jaylene! So Nice to meet you.. OMG!! I am SOO glad I did this..
I thought I was the only one who started with 300+ weight and was like halfway to goal..THANK YOU!! Have you felt stuck at all? Like the scale demons don't want to move down?
We have similar goals.. I want to be 220 by 4/28 and be @205 by 5/27..
but Im getting ahead of myself..my birthday is 7/16 and I want to try to be
175/180 by then..so I thought it would be great if we could use all our experience and see what we learn and Im so glad I did this!
How long have you been doing 60-100gms of protein ( I know every surgeon is different) mine says only 70 max, but Im thinking- if that was higher- than my weight loss may be higher- and that may be where Im making a mistake..
so let me know.. and CONGRATULATIONS on your 100LB weight loss!!
WAY

Hi Donna,
Thanks for this great idea. I always set monthly goals for myself to reach by my post-op anniversary date. I use fitday.com to keep track of my weight goals for each month. I generally start on the 3rd of each month since that is my anniversary date.
My current goal is to be at 210 by 4/3 and I am at 213.5 right now. I believe I'll meet this goal by Saturday, so I will join you'll with a new goal to start 3/25 to 4/28.
My goal is to loose 11 lbs. and be at 199 to be in onederland. I would need to loose an additional 6 lbs to make it -100 lbs & that would be my highest weight lose to date if that happened, I have not lost that much since the start of WLS, so I'll not put that much pressure on myself. We all know that at times, lose is better some months then others.
2nd goal is to increase my water intake to 75 oz a day. I get 58 to 64 at this time. I just need to be more faithful drinking in the evenings at home. 3rd goal is to increase my exercise, I am not very good at keeping myself motivated and moving, so my goal is to walk at least 3 times a week or do the elliptical trainer & begin weight training to help decrease my gut, arms and legs. 4th goal is to stop emotional & boredom eating, they are not helping me reach my goals. 5th is to finish my blanket that I've been crocheting, I've got about 25 more rows to go and it will be my first major project done on my new hobby.
Well, that's it for now. I didn't realize I was so close to being in onederland! That is exciting and great motivation for meeting my next goal! Good luck to us all and happy trails on the journey!
Lori

Lori.. nice to meet you.. I usually find starting an exercise thing is harder- but once you get used to it- your body adjusts and you realize how much better you feel- you forget about feeling bad..I usually focus on the "feeling good" and equate going to the gym (exercising) with feeling good.. its like having your brain on a different channel.. and suddenly you LOVE the channel and miss it when you arent there..so today I am returning to my exercise "channel", and I just know with all the tension and stress Ive had..Im going to say- why the hell didnt I get back sooner ( I was sick) LOL
And thanks for reminding me- to increase my water- Im at 50oz daily- and when Im at the gym- I usually do 32oz while working out- so I wa****ting my water target.. and keep focused on your day to day and you will reach Onderland..we all will.. it doesn't matter how long it takes to reach the mountaintop- cause the view is still the same.. so keep that in mind!
