OK! TIME TO POST GOALS!
HI LADIES!! I'm going to start a new monthly thread..I think we need this..
I have been reading posts and emails- and want to help everyone maintain their focus..think of this as a "sister" post to the daily exercise one that we are doing.. only this will be monthly.. and since its the first day of Spring..
thought we would enjoy looking forward to the great weather..so here is what we do:
1- Post a weight loss goal - 5, 10 lbs whatever is your significant number
2- write briefly, what you will do to achieve that goal- exercise longer- more days, weight lift, take a class, etc..
I will repost the end of April and hold everyone accountable..nothing bad..
but mostly as a check up. I think we each bring something to the table- and then by comparing what we did- we can duplicate our success for May.
Goal Deadline is Friday April 28. To be fair , everyone should have their goals posted by 3/25
Here are my goals:
* lose 16lbs by April 28, getting to 220, my lowest in 20yrs.
* doing 2 shakes daily, 26 gms each; working out 4-6days a week;
* focusing on the journey- the quality of what Im doing, for me.
LADIES, WHO ELSE IS JOINING ME?
DONNA
Thanks Lori! Diana gave me the idea, as we've been keeping in touch
and I thought why not do this for everyone..I would love to learn what
someone did over the next 5 weeks to get to their goal..I think this will
keep everyone focused.. I think if anyone wants to write in- how they are doing that week, working towards their goal. I think I will do that-
so March 27 will be Week 1 towards goal- and have everyone sign in and see how they are doing..
This keeps getting better and better!
So a monthly goals post and weekly follow ups!
Its going to help me, for one, cuz I am returning to my workouts this week, after being sick and not working out for 2 weeks..
Thanks for signing up!
Donna
Cool idea!
167 is my goal weight by April 28. That's 10 lbs, and puts me just 4 lbs from my surgeon's goal for me. (Okay, I'd really like to lose the whole 14 lbs by the end of April but I'm going to be realistic here, so we'll just shoot for 10 lbs.)
I will ~
* Avoid the carb demons!
* Work out 4 to 5 days per week
* Get all my vitamins in daily (sometimes I miss a couple calcium pills).
* Focus on my goal and work hard to achieve it!!

Thanks for posting Connie.. you're so close and yet so far!
This is why I thought this was a good idea- we are all on different journeys
and thought putting our focus on one day- one week at a time is good- and
know that as we struggle- so does everyone..
whaddya mean carb demons?

Every time that I have set weight loss goals for myself, I have missed them. I never know what my body will do since surgery. I had come to the point that I was just going to concentrate on what I needed to do daily instead of worrying about losing a certain number of pounds in a specific amount of time. I already walk 3-4 miles 4-6 times a week, but I will try to do this anyway. I love you guys and I will try almost anything with you. If all else fails, it will be fun to be involved in this adventure with you all. Who knows? I might learn something from this experience.
I would like to weigh 185 by April 28th (I would actually like to weigh a lot less by then, but wouldn't we all. LOL.) That is an 11 pound weight loss.
To reach this goal, I will
Try my best to stay away from bad carbs & all sugar (God help me)
Drink at least 4 or 5 20 oz bottles of water a day
I will continue to workout 4-6 times a week but I will try to intensify and vary my workouts
I will continue to do nice things for myself (get my hair and nails done, eyebrows waxed, go to the tanning bed, dress up, take good care of my skin). The better I feel about myself, the better I do.
Post a picture of myself, if I can figure out how to do it.
LOL,

Hi Sherry.. don't ya just wanna shoot me for suggesting this?
I was looking for away to get myself back to where I was ( 2 weeks out sick)
and getting back to goals, and came up with this idea..I also find that once
I set numbered goals- something prevents me- but I chose a longer timeframe- this is like 5-6 weeks for the first goal- which I think is doable
for everyone.. and nothing encourages you more- than achieving one small goal.. The journey is more than just exercise and water..and eating or not eating..so hopefully this will turn out well for everyone.. and if anyone is
Catholic like I am.. I forgot to give up Carbs for Lent!

Thanks... I hadn't heard of either of these books. Sent me to Amazon to look for them and found a whole bunch of cool books - a recipe book by Patt Levine and even a "Weightloss Surgery for Dummies" that actually seems to have some great stuff for post-op, including recipes. They're now on my wish list awaiting for there to be money in my pocket to spend on books instead of bills and clothes. :op
