Bra size changes
A question for the ladies.... Have you all had to buy new bras? Have you been sized professionally? I went today to get "something that fit" and the saleslady in the intimate appareal area of a local department store measured me to see if she could help me find something appropriate. Well, I have been wearing 42DDD's and they fit poorly. Her measurements indicated that I would need a 38DDDDD (38H). I was a bit floored, but said I would try anything since what I had didn't fit well. We brought in 6 styles. One fit comfortably! Had to special order to get two more to tide me over for a while.
My husband has said for several months now that I look like I am smuggling oranges inside a stocking. I am not too firm, but have lots of tissue in that area. Guess I will have to see the plastic surgeon eventually to get into a more normal size.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Pre op I was a 40DD and now I'm a 36DD. My breasts aren't as 'full' as they were before, but they're still big, altho they droop more now. I hope to get a lift and maybe a bit of reduction in the coming months. (Would like to be a C cup.)
I haven't been professionally fit for a bra, I just took some sizes into the dressing room and tried til I found what seemed to work. I've heard the best way to go is be sized tho, I bet those new bras will be so nice and comfortable! Is your back pain bad from the excess breast tissue? I have some back pain, not horrendous, but definitely nagging.

Hey Connie!
Long time no talk to! I too am having the same trouble as you. I have gone down to the smallest bra I had on hand...I was using some extenders before instead of having to purchase more bras and it is a 42C by Playtex...I am going to have to go and purchase some more..it is getting a bit lose in the bossom area...but fits perfect around. I was in a 48DDD...I have pretty large breast still, but they are hanging much lower and causes back trouble. I am going to make sure my PCP documents it at my next visit to help me when it comes time for plastics!!
Hope all is well on the coast...we are expecting cold rain to move in tomorrow and stay until Wednesday....I don't like rain, my hubby loves it, but we are exact opposites ...literally, even on the horascope, I am aquarias and he is a leo...polar opposties...has it's good points...we are pretty good for each other, most the time ....keep in touch, and don't forget, if you let me know on postage for clothes, I can send you a prepaid shipping label or a money order....I am getting down to the bare eccentials!

I have went from a tight 44D to a nicely fitting 36C. I bought a $38 bra from Victoria's Secret and it fits perfectly. I have never been measured for a bra. I think I may have stopped shrinking though. Seems like the girls are staying about the same since the first big drop over a 4 month period. Hopefully they won't get any smaller! I am perfectly happy where they are now.
My hubby told me that if they got too small, he would buy me new ones! What a guy!

Oh yeah... been there, done that. I was about a 42Dish pre-op and now I'm a 36D/34DD - though I seem to be shrinking again and have lost about a cup. Like you - they sag like anything and if I'm wearing something that doesn't have a bra - I look flat chested. I would like to get a lift/etc. to make them look like they do in a padded bra w/o the bra, but with my budget it will be quite a while so the padded bra is what will have to do.

Hi Eileen
I have just gone through this bra issue myself. I have gone from a 42D to a 38C and I am sure that it will keep changing for awhile. I went to Victoria Secrets and they measured me. You can also Google "how to measure breats" and they will show you the formula - it is simple. At VS, they gave me a box of my size bras (their most popular styles). This way I could try them all on and see which style fit me the best. These bras are expensive, but boy are they comfortable! The only thing that sucks about VS is they do not carry a lot of large sizes.
Hope this helps.

Eileen,
I think i was just wearing the wrong size bra for many years. I was a 48D before WLS, now i am a 42DDD WTH? Really i think us big ladies just wear the wrong size cuz it feels comforable. Before WLS i never wore underwire, cuz it would bend, and poke at me. But now all i ever wear is underwire, they my girls have the appearance that they are "perky" lol. I love it. I found all my bras at Lane Bryant. I think i am losing some volume in my girls tho, i may need to go down to a 40 DD soon, cuz my bras arent getting filled out near as much!
