VERY HELPFUL
I am so thankful for this message board. I am able to discuss/vent/question issues that others in my life really do not understand. As I struggle with slowed weightloss, diminished focus, food challenges, I am very grateful for everyone that is taking this journey with me. It is weird since we do not necessarily know each other but we truly understand each other.
I wanted to thank everyone and also share something that I discovered today. We are where we should be in this journey! I just went to the August 2004 board and went back to the 6-8th month of their journey and so many of the same issues were being discussed. Very helpful for me.
Hang in there,
Lynne

Everyone is being so Lovey-Dovey today. You guys are going to make me cry. I agree with everything you have said, Lynne. It is so nice to have support and friendship from those that are going through the same thing as I am. Even though we do not personally know one another, we all "know" each other. We all know what it's like for the real person that we truly are to be smothered in pounds of fat. We know what it is like to be scared of surgery but fear the consequences of staying morbidly obese even more and taking that chance. And as we are discovering now, we all know what it feels like to question "If this is it? Is this all the weight that I am going to lose?" or "What if I fail at this too? Then what?". So we do know each other I think quite well, just in a different way.
LOL,
Sherry
By the way, I am so jealous of you. You started off where I was and you already weigh 156. WOW! What is your secret? Please, share it with the rest of us. LOL!

Hi Lynne!
I am sure all of us feel the same way about this board. We really have become quite the little family here! I love the fact that I can come here anytime with a problem or question and it WILL be answered. I have posted to the other boards, main and WA, and get no response. The WA board has been a little more helpful than the main one on occasion. But I don't feel the love that I feel here.
I hadn't thought of checking the other surgery boards to see how they were at this point... what a great idea! It's nice to know that what we are going through at this point in our journey is NORMAL!
Thanks to each and everyone here.
Lori
Hi Lynne,
thanks for the post...I love coming to this board too. I know that because we are all about the same timeframe our journeys are closer and we share the same experiences overall. Some may lose quicker, but we are all about the same time out.
Like the other Lori, I find that the friendshipe here and the comments help me more than on the main board or even my state board. This is where I come for answers, to share ups and downs and to find those who know where I am at right now, cause you're there too!

Hi Lynne,
Thank you for weeding through all those msgs to find out that we're basically normal! I know that at my support mtg this past week it was noted that our cravings and such start rearing their ugly heads about the 6 month mark and boy, when you add being sick at the same time....lol.
What I'm finding that helps is being a mentor to a friend that just had her surgery 2 weeks ago. It helps to be brought back to basics.
Have a super week.
