Am I losing enough?

I have lost 108 since my surgery on August 15th. I started at 173. Is this amount normal, or am I doing better or not as well as others that had surgery around the same time? I could not exercise at first due to the pain in my knees and I had painful charlie horses. Just concerned I am not doing enough. Thanks! Dyann

Dyann, You are doing great , keep up the good work. I had my surgery on Aug. 3rd 2005, and I've only lost 66 lbs. I am a very slow loser and I plateau alot. Everyone loses at different rates, as you can see when you read everyones posts. Keep doing what you are doing, I wi**** was me at 108 lbs lost. Toya 284/219/175??

Hi Dyann - 108 is awesome...I think you are doing great. Did you mean to say you started at 273 not 173? I hope so, or now you would weigh in at 65 lbs. I started at 335 and now weigh 228 - so I have lost 107 lbs and I still have 88 more lbs that I would like to lose. You are doing so good...keep up the great work....You should be so proud of yourself. Jaylene Open RNY 8/8/05 335/228/140

Oops, I started at 273, not 173. It seems impossible that I was ever that big. My doctor says I should get down to no lower than 140, but I want to be 125. We'll see what happens.

Dyann, You are doing great. We all lose at different rates. That is something I have had to deal with as alot of people have lost more than me in the same amount of time. The great part is that it will come off. Sometimes we have to change our habits around a *****ange our exersize. More variety in foods helps sometimes. You are doing awesome 108 since aug WOW Keep it up Take care Joyce RNY Aug 1/05 356/266/?/160-180

Dyann, 108 lbs is AWESOME... We had our surgery on the same date & I've lost 80lbs. I lose then stay the same for a couple weeks, then lose again. Slowly but surely... You're doing great Tammy

Hi Dyann, As you've already ready, your weight loss is GREAT! As far as your goal weight, is there a reason your doctor said no lower than 140? The nutrionist told me to go to 150, but I've been there and knew I wanted to lose 10-15 lbs then so I chose 135. I chose mine because it put me at the middle of the 18-25 BMI range that is considered healthy. What would 125 put you at? You could always decide when you get to 140 as well such as I'm now thinking of going to 128, but I think I'll let my body decide if it wants to go that low. Dawn 258/144/135

Hey Dyann! You are doing great! I had my surgery the day after you, on the 16th and I am down 118 pounds now, but I started heavier. Sometimes when you start heavier you lose faster at first. How tall are you?? That is what you want to look at and to check out the BMI calculator. My surgeon originally told me a goal of 180-170 would be considered a sucess but on my 6 month visit I talked to him and he agreed 150 would be great, but I will have to work very, very hard to get there...that is my ultimate goal and I am 5'8". Best of luck! Nancy 5'8" surgery 8/16/2005 RNY 320/202/170 surgeon (my ultimate goal is 150ish)
