Good morning everyong... How's everyone doing today? It's the middle of the work week YEAH!!!! Thanks to everyone for the good wishes with my review yesterday. It went AWESOME... A 3 is given when someone is performing at their expectations. Most everyone gets a 3. I, however, got a 4 for the second year in a row. That's Excellent Performance. I'm excited. Last year I got almost a 5% raise so, hopefully, it'll be close to the same this year. I won't know until close to the end of the month because it's not effective until April 1st. Anyway....back to exercise..... Combined Exercise for all of us....DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!! Donna, Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. You're smart by laying low this week. Get the infection out of your system. You'll be back on your feet & rejoining us with exercise before you know it. Thanks for your uplifting spirit. Tammy

Well, I stepped on the scale this am and even with all the peeing I did yesterday, I am at 200lbs once again! GRRR! At least I SAW onderland for a couple of days! I am not losing hope. I am sure it's only a temporary gain since my period is right around the corner. But still... how disappointing! Anyhoo... I WILL walk my 2 miles today at lunch. I think I am getting addicted to it! How scary is that? There are worse things to be addicted to huh? We rock!! Look at all of us go! Whoo Hoo!!! Lori 281/200/140 PS I started a daily exercise post on our WA Board too! So far so good! Thanks for the idea!!!

Great job Lori - I know when its TOM (time of the month) I gain 4lbs and after 5 days - I lose it- as long as I stick to my regular program.. I did discover- that having a 25grm protein shake ( an hour before) my workout, sustained me, and THEN if I had another protein shake AFTER, it increased my muscle recovery and I lost more weight. For example- I would go workout- burn 400 cals and the next day see 1-2 lb loss on the scale..then I began working out longer and burning more calories my weight loss halted- because I wasnt taking in more calories..so I decided to add a few more carbs, add the second shake, and then I lost 4 lbs..I went from 241 to 237..in one day, and it wasnt TOM.. Then I got sick. LOL. My mom says its because I never slow down and that Im too preoccupied with my weight loss.. She is going to be 90 and says she's glad she lived long enough to see me change as much as I have. Anyway- I find its all about balance- balancing carbs- but mostly I think its protein- because our bodies work differently than most..and typically athletes drink like 3 shakes a day+carbs..so that is why I recommend adding another protein shake- see how it works for you. We can compare notes.. Donna

That sounds great! Only one problem... I don't drink protein shakes. My surgeon is against drinking your protein. I get all my protein from food. I average around 70 grams a day. I try and keep my carbs under 50 grams a day. I don't want to add any more calories since I am taking in around 6-800 a day now. My nutritionist thinks that is just about right for me. I think I am just bloated from TOM. We'll see how it goes in the next two weeks. Thanks for the advice though! I really appreciate it! Lori

Hi Ev1! It is raining today in Ohio, so no walking. I did the circuit room for 45 minutes. I am hoping by Monday that I can make it thru 3 times. Congrats on your review Tammy!!! I hope you feel better Donna! Stay Strong! Hippie 291/224/160

Ok, so much for walking today! It's rainy and blustery here in WA again! Sounds like a darn hurricane outside! So, needless to say, I didn't walk today. They are calling for snow tonight so who knows if I will walk tomorrow either. I am praying for SUN! I am so sick of winter I could just PUKE! Ok, so Lori is in a foul mood now since she didn't get in her walk!!! Geez! Sorry for coming unglued for a second.... hey, maybe I burned some calories!! Anyhoo... best of luck to everyone else! Lori

Hiya girls! I hope everyone had a good day today. Well, I just got done exercising while I watched the Biggest Loser. Did anyone else watch? The Navy team had a girl who had gastric bypass surgery about 9 years ago and gained weight back (scary). She said she didn't learn how to eat correctly when she had it done and ended up stretching her stomach back out. I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE THAT MISTAKE! I know that the surgery was different 9 years ago than it is today, but still. So, I'm really glad that we are all working our tool and exercising. Ok, here is my exercise for the day... Weight at start of March: 214 Today's weight: 211 Elliptical machine w/ resistance 1-5 35 minutes (5 more than yesterday) 3503 steps 1.25 miles -431 calories!!! Strength Trianing from 8 Minutes in the Morning book 4 sets each for calves, butt, and abs Talk to ya'll tomorrow! -Lynn Lap RNY 8-16-05 297/211/140

Hi Lynn... Yeah I watched the Bigest Loser.... You know I love that show & I love Bob....but it gets to me the way they always say surgery is the easy way out or the quick fix.... I think we're doing it right. Exercise is the key and as long as we stay accountable to each other, we'll be just fine.... Great job Tammy
