Size 8 *who me*
Hello all~
I cannot belive this is happening. Last week I went shopping and hit a size 10 which I knew had been coming. But yesterday I went shopping and everything I tried on and that fit me was an 8. Could I have went through a size that fast? Not that I'm complaining. Its just funny the way things work. In High School my weight was about 150 lbs and I was a size 14. Now I weigh 165 lbs and I'm a size 8. I just can't get over how this surgery has turned my life around. I want to get to a goal of 150 lbs which would equal a 100 lbs loss but I don't think I want to get any thinner. But according to BMI charts I'm still overweight. How is this possible? I started out at 251 lbs day of surgery. I guess this is the biggest WOW moment since surgery. WOW.
Isn't it weird that we can fit in a smaller size but weigh more? I remember wearing a size 10 when I graduated HS at 135lbs! These days I will probably be in a 4 or 6 at that weight! I am 201lbs and wear a regular 14 comfortably, 14 stretch is getting big. I will take it though! Great job!!!

Hi Kristin!
Congrats on the size 8! By the way, how tall are you? I weigh about 147, 5'7" (5'6.5" really - but I usually round up) and am just now getting to size 8 pants (and I can't ever remember wearing less than a 9 growing up) which is a size smaller than I ever dreamed of getting to. There are only 3 things I can think of as to why so many of us are wearing smaller sizes, yet weighing more are 1: we're wearing women instead of junior clothes; 2: we're carrying our weight differenly - I know I now have a tummy and my rear end is significantly smaller porportionally then when I was younger; and 3: vanity - I'm pretty sure if we placed a current size 8 to a size 8 from 15 yrs ago there would be a major difference. Personally, I don't care - I LOVE saying I'm picking up an 8 and they fit.
Oh, as far as not wanting to get any thinner - don't let the label make the decision. If you end up a 2, so be it. We all chose this to be healthier and if 150 brings you under a healthy BMI and you still feel good - go for it and enjoy being in a smaller size than ever before!

Kristin,
first of, great job!!
second, it sounds right to me that you are able to get in 8. I'm 20 lb more than you are and get in 12 (and so far very-very happy about it btw). I'm 5'7'' and consider myself pretty big-framed (judging by my wrist size it is in fact true) , although very well-proportioned. I want to get to where you are now and stay there.
COngrats again, enjoy your success.
best wishes, Rita.
