First of all, Happy 6 month anniversary to us all!!!! I am about to do the one thing I swore not to...PANIC..my anniv is tomorrow and I have been playing with the same 4 lbs for 6 weeks. Driving me crazy...I believe this last month I lost only 3 lbs. I hope it is not over so soon. I've got 28lbs to go. I started exercising 2 weeks ago(45 mins on treadmill-5-6x's/week) not a muscle building work out yet. I thought it would get the scale moving again. If this is just a stage in the process...fine..but i am not sure. I can and do eat more than before, so I think that is why I am not losing. I have not had my period since 12/24/05..that makes me nervous, however I am 49 and maybe it is age related. Any insight guys??? Thanks in advance, Pat

First off, DON'T PANIC... It is not over. Your body is getting close to the end and it is going to need more time to rearrange what little is left of you. You started working out, which is great and if you read everyone's post, almost ALL of u**** a plateau when we started working out. I only lost 6.5lbs last month, but I lost 2 and 3/4 inches in my waist. THAT IS AMAZING. So, you are losing inches. Make sure you keep working out and that you are drinking lots of water. Increase your water by one to make sure you are getting enough. You are also building muscle. Running will burn the most body fat and it will tone you the fastest. So, you are losing body fat in the form of inches and building muscle, which we all know weighs more then fat. Start measuring.... Especially now that you are getting so close to goal. Your weight loss will slow down, but don't worry. You have 6 more months to lose all the weight that you need to. So, it may not come off overnight. But, the inches will if you keep up the hard work. It will also help if you break up the workout routine. Try going on a long WALK. Or go swim. Go skating/skiing or even gardening. Your body also has muscle memory, which can work against you, but by breaking up the routine you will force your body to build new muscles, which also gives your worked out muscles time to relax. Sorry I have rambled... You are doing AWESOME. You are on the home stretch, don't worry. You still have plenty of time to lose that weight.... Apryl 245.5/176.5/140

Apryl, You are precious! Really great tips and re-assurance. I am a believer in exercise too. I am feeling guilty and upset that I can eat more and do snack too frequently. The snacks are healthy choices but I am up to 1200calories/day. It must be too much. Thanks so much,Pat

HI Apryl 1200 calories a day for me is what the nutritionist told me to get in. I never get that much in at all...thing is, she said,"if you don't eat enough calories, your body will simply hold on to everything you eat and you won't lose weight" ...And I have found it to be true. I also snack between meals, but i was diabetic before surgery and my nut told me to snack..as long as they are healthy snacks ..."Everything in modeeration", says my surgeon. I think we are all doing great and just need to let our bodies play catch up with us. hang in there

Pat Don't panic. We're all in the same boat. Seems like all our weight loss is really slowing down. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat, so you could be building the muscle with the exercise. Not sure on your period, but you may want to mention it to your doc. Could be your age, but if you were normal before, I'd talk to your doctor just to make sure. Keep up the great work Tammy
