Well! My scale finally jumped down! I had lost all my temp weight last week and was down to 247..then I had 2 dates last week and did some dancing & had my first real drink- the night before I saw my surgeon- and he weighed me at 251 (last Thursday). I am NOW at 244!! YAY!! 7lbs in one week! I am Happy..AND this now puts me at the lowest weight in 10yrs! GO ME!! DOIN the HAPPY dance! My BMI is officially down 13%, down to 42%. Dr Garber gave me a BMR test- its a resting metabolism test. It bears out what I have been saying about workouts in my profile.. my metabolism is 52% faster than average for my age..and Dr said its because I exercise & weight lift. There Ya go..medical science proven once again! AND it also calculates how you burn calories : At rest- being sedentary & doing nothing- I burn 3000 cals Daily activities - just routine stuff - I burn another 850 cals 30 mins exercise- I burn 300 cals So If I exesrcise 30mins a day- I totally burn 4150 cals..so losing 7lbs in one week..can be done..now just imagine how sucessful I would be when I get my iron deficiency worked out? Of course I am heading out to the gym! Donna

He has a machine that is set u to do just these tests- it takes 10mins and you breathe in & out through a long hose with a clothes pin type thing on your nose..when its up the PA came in - netered my height/weight etc and then it printed out the statistics..The paperwork I have says its an Indirect Calorimeter.. Today I went to the gym- did 75mins treadmill with 3-8% inclines & a min speed of 2.8..I burned 600 calories, did 4 miles . I love it- Iwalked 4 miles and went nowhere! So I probably burned 4400 calories in total today, and my intake was less than 1000, so I would be -3400 cals tomorrow..Usually after I workout Im down 2 lbs..and now it just makes more sense. Good luck! Donna

Hey, Donna. I am so glad that your have broken your stall. I'm sorry that I have not contacted you since our last chat. I have been so busy at work. I have also come off of my gain/plateau. The last time we chatted I had gained from 206 to 210. I am now down to 200. Looks like the exercise is paying off for us. LOL!! Sherry 276/200/130 - 140

Hi Sherry! Im now 242! and my 6mos anniversary is Wednesday! I thought I would have been lower by now. I just think how much MORE difficult it would be without having had this surgery, to help, you know? We talked about this in support saturday - regardless where you are in the journey-at goal- postop or baby postop - its a struggle to balance your food intake + exercise = weight loss. The further you grow from surgery- the more you can tolerate food- which is good & but those calories will count! I find I can fit more fruit into my diet..mentally Im like- I miss eating fruit- then afterwards Im like..there's no room left! LOL its so bulky with fiber! And I find myself addicted to peanut butter - when I never did before! LOL Oh and at the gym saturday- my gf overheard 2 guys talking about me.. they thought I was a boxer! ( I do a lot of intensive boxing moves when I workout) and during my cardio. Anyway- thanks for hanging in there with me..I wish I was 210..i feel like Im never gonna get that low..I wish you good luck as you break your way into ONDERLAND!!! Hugs Donna
