Emergency Surgery Last Night--Back home now!
I am so glad you posted this! I would have just wallowed in pain forever before someone would have dragged me to the doctor or hospital.
This lets me know any pain inside or outside; I going to get it seen about. Your experience was scary to read but so enlighting. Thank you for sharing this information. I was sitting here thinking that 6 months should be out of woods... I see that is not true.
Get well soon.
Take care,
Pam
Hey Pam, we're surgery sister and today's our 6-month anniv!!
I tell ya, normally I would have just continue to take gas/constipation medications and all kinds of stuff to remedy those, but when I couldn't drive no more and the pain was so sharp it was cutting out my breathing I knew it was something a bit more serious--needless to say, I was very VERY SCARED! I'm very glad now that I called my doc immediately upon getting home and that I followed his directions to go to the ER right away. Yes, I'm sore and in a lot of pain now, but this pain I can tolerate. Monday night's pain, I thought it was going to kill me. Phew! Thank god for Dr. Roth. He did it again--He's my hero!!!
The funny thing is that in almost six months, up until Monday, I had not had a single complication post-wls...yep, I thought I was out of the woods too...boy was I wrong!
I hope my experience, as scary as it was, helps someone act immediately no matter how minor or insignificant they think the symptoms are...better safe than sorry, right?
Take care and god bless!
Dolly
Dolly,
I'm so sory for what you had to go through. I had a similar episode last month (full of sh..), but luckily I had an appointment with my surgeon and he sent me to xray ASAP and we were able to treat it before I developed any more serious complications other than stabbing pain. I hope your recovery goes quickly!
