Hey gang.... I joined Curves for women back in September, but then did not go... as I spend the fall in the bush with my dad at the trap camp. Anyway... I started back after new years and now have gone faithfully for 4 weeks. MY WEIGHT-LOSS HAS STALLED! I know the "muscle weighs more than fat", "I'm toning up" etc... but I have to tell you I get feeling pretty discouraged. I also quit smoking this week and I'm on day 5... another struggle. Perhaps I'm a little edgy and cranky without the smokes??? My weightloss has jumped around since my surgery, some weeks nothing and the 6 pounds the next. But it's been over 6 weeks since anything happened... Do you think I'm done loosing weight??? I started at 242 and I'm down to 165 and wearing a size 12... but I still have lots of fat to loose. I've increased my protein intake as well, but nothing seems to be working???? Any suggestions... hugs Kim

Hi Kim. That is great that you are going to Curves. I doubt you are finished losing. You have lost more than me...lol. I started at 244 an am only at 177. For a little over 3 weeks I didn't lose anything and feared I was done but since Thursday a week ago the scales are moving again. Thank God. Keep up what you're doing and they should start moving again for you soon. Hang in there. Gianna

Kim, I feel your frustration. I have been going between the same two pounds for about two weeks after a three week stall. I too have increased my exercise/weights. We are doing what we need to and everyone says that this is normal. I guess I can accept that but it sure does not make it any easier! I have decided not to get on the scale until the end of the month-too frustrating. I am going to focus on protein, water, exercise and hope for the best!!!!!! I keep telling myself that even if this is it for weight loss I am so much healthier and feel so much better physically and feel better about myself. Hang in there, Lynne 276/197/199/246

Kim, You should have them measure you. I bet you are losing inches. I have been very slow in my losses the past 4 weeks or so. But I feel thinner. My jeans are getting looser on me as well as everything else, but my weight hasn't changed much. I finally dropped a couple of lbs this week but it's been very frustrating until I think about my clothes fitting better. So, something is going on. Maybe not weightloss but lost inches. Good job on the weightloss so far and the exercising! Lori 281/211/140

Sorry. I know exactly what you mean. The stalls seem to last longer now. I get myself measured onced a month at curves and it helps. The one great thing I am noticing (and so are others) is that whenever I start to develop a lot of loose skin, I hit a stall, then it seems to shrink overnight! Now I'm addicted to going to curves...actually I'm heading out there now! Samantha 275/265/187/140?

Hi Kim, I SO understand the "I'm exercising - and now I'm gaining weight!" I've been very irregular with my exercising and since Christmas I go 2 weeks w/o loss, then lose 3 lbs, then hold for 2 weeks and lose 2. Driving me nuts after how quick I was losing until then. I told myself the problem was I needed ot start exercising on a regular basis so I headed to the gym, got a new weight routine and went to the gym every day for 5 days and promptly gained 2 lbs! TICKED ME OFF!!! I know darn well it wasn't muscle in only that timeframe. I remembered that when you start exercising your muscles hold more fluid and I wasn't drinking my entire 64oz so my body couldn't purge it. Haven't been in the 5 days or so and as of today - 6 month anny day - I lost 2 lbs for the first time in 2 1/2 weeks. Go figure. All this to say... it's harder to lose weight the closer we get to goal, exercise isn't really hurting your weightloss as your body will regulate itself if you're following all your rules/regs, and the muscle you're building will pay off. Remember to change your exercise routine at least every 6 weeks - which is hard at Curves - as your body will get used to that level of excertion (sp?) and stall. Keep it up as you're doing great!!
