just wondering if anyone else had a problem eating meat, no matter what kind it is or how moist it nauseates me in minutes. and if i try to hold it in it just sits like a rock. was able to eat eggs and now they do the same as meat...kind of hard to get protein in with food.and the weird thing is i crave meat endlessly. and when i give in, it makes me sick every time

For the most part I do fine with meat. I find that when I first start eating it I often get that "lump that's sitting at some strange angle" in my stomach. If I wait about 5 minutes I can usually continue with no problem. I think the cause is that I'm so hungry that I gobble instead of chew, chew, chew. Scrambled eggs get me more often than not now. Peanut butter is another one that makes my stomach cramp. All I can suggest is try chew, chew, chew again. As we're getting further out I think we're reverting to old habits - at least I know I am. lol Dawn 258/156/135ish

Hey Laurie, Yep; I'm still having lots of problems with all foods, including (and especially) meat. I'm not a beef eater anyway, but I love chicken, tuna, etc and am getting a bit depressed over my continued problems. I get extremely nauseous within minutes and it feels like the food is stuck. I have had 2 endoscopies so far and I've been told that I have a motility problem, rather than a stricture type problem. Either way, it's distressing! Just wondering...how long does the nausea last for you? Do you eventually or does it go down? My nausea lasts for hours until I finally bring everything up. It's exhausting because during this time period, I can't drink or eat anything else and I get severely dehydrated. Let me know how you've resolved this... Toni 323/238/???

Laurie, Sorry to hear you're having problems. The only meat I've had problems with is steak if I don't chew it well enough. Have you tried any of the lean cuisine meals? I usually get the low carb ones & the meat it very tender & moist. Are you getting your protein from other sources? I would discuss with your Dr. or nutritionist, maybe they can give you some suggestions. Good Luck Tammy

Have you tried shrimp or crab meat? They seem to be the best meat that goes down and sit well with me. Eggs are not a good thing sometimes. But you need to find other sources if meat is not doing it. Have you tried any chinese. I know that some chinese has alot of sodium and sugar, but try just eatting the meat. Seems that helped me get through the rough meat times. It seems like it is moist and tender. Just some suggestions. I hope that things get better. Just take it slow and take your time. Jen 275/189/150

Ground meat works well for me. Ground beef, pork and turkey. Chicken has been hit and miss, although canned at work has been fine but tuna also works for me. It seems if something doesn't work one day it may work on another day so don't give up. Not chewing enough does get me from time to time and I've also noticed that I can't eat at all in stressful situations, someone has blessed me there since that was a time when I would always overeat.
