Plateau Buster results...
Today was my official weigh in after doing the 10 day plateau buster diet, and I'm down 5 1/2 lbs in 10 days! In that time I've also gone down to a size medium in my work scrubs. The past couple of days I've gotten TONS of comments about how much weight I've lost, how different I look, etc. I did realize while doing the plateau buster that I had begun straying more than I thought originally. I had been intaking too many carbs, doing too much grazing, way too little excersise... but I now have control over it again and it feels great!

Hey there, surgery twin!
I know, I know...I have been MIA...too much going on...
You are doing fabulous--WAY TO GO!!
You have me beat by 1 lb (considering I started at 270 and am down to 193). I feel great but have been struggling with constipation and have been going up and down since 12/19 from 193 to 195.5. Today I'm at 193.
Please email me and let me know what this plateau buster diet it is you are doing. I sure can use it.
Keep up the good work!
Have a nice weekend.

This is the plateau buster diet ~
How to break a plateau
#1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau
#2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day
#3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day
#4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day
beef
pork
chicken
turkey
lamb
fish
eggs
low fat cheese
cottage cheese
plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?)
peanut butter
beans/legumes
You may also have:
sugar free popsicles
tea or coffee
sugar free soda
sugar free jello
broths/bullion (sp?)
crystal light drinks
#5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!!
#6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily
In addition to the Plateau Buster, change your exercise plan as well. Such as if you are walking, join Curves, if you are a Curves member, do walking on days that you don't do Curves. If you are a member of Curves, join a gym or buy free weights and alternate between Curves and the gym or free weights for 5 days a week.
Yeah Connie!
Glad it worked for you. I couldn't do the Plateau Buster as I'm only allowed 3 meals a day, but it sounds like all I have to do is follow my doctor's instructions per the 1st couple of months post-op. Your statement "I had begun straying more than I thought orginially" I think sums up what most of us would find in the same situation.
Keep it up!

I started the Plateau Buster on Thrusday and so far I am doene about 4.5 pounds. Not bad, especially since I had been in a complete stall for almost 6 weeks despite working out like a mad woman!
It is the carbs. At least for me it was. By completely eliminating them, my body is going bad to burning fat and I honestly don't want to start eating all of those carbs again until I am a whole lot closer to goal!
What a journey....completely true though, that the surgery was not a complete fix. We will have to continue to work on improving our food intake and exercise.
Good Luck All!
