Well, fellow August surgery people. I saw my surgeon Thursday. I have lost almost 110 pounds, gone from a 32 to a 22 pants and 20 shirts. I am very pleased. But he said my hernia was really bad (it is the size of a basketball) and I needed to have it fixed asap. So I am going in on Jan 31 for my hernia repair. I thought it was outpatient surgery, but he said the surgery will be 4 hours and since it is at 3pm, I will have to stay 1 or 2 nights. Yuck! The good news.....he said a hernia that size usually slow down weight loss (I have only lost about 10 pounds since Christmas) and that I would probably be 2 to 3 sizes smaller in my pants. That is amazing. But, to get pants to fit around my huge hernia, they are loose in the legs so it makes sense. Wish me luck! Anyone else have to have a hernia repair already? Carrie

Wow! Having that removed should make you feel like a new person. As far as I know I don't have a hernia much less need one repaired, but I can imagine having a basketball in my stomach. Think of how much lighter you'll be in just those 3 days. Good luck and you'll be in my prayers. Dawn 258/157/135

Carrie, Too bad you can't put it off until you are closer to goal. My insurance will approve a tummy tuck if there is a hernia involved. Good luck to you. Terri 292/204/155
