DISCOURAGED!

OK, Here it is. I have been floating between 250 and 255 for almost a month now. I have been meausring but have only lost about 4 inches altogether there too. I eat about 65 grams of protein a day, drink about a gallon of water a day. Yes really that much. Take all my vitamins and exercise at least 3 times a week. So why am I at a stand still for so long. I am not one to be depressed but this last week has been terrible. I don't expect to lose 15 or even 20 lbs any more every month but at least a pound a week would be nice. I know I have come a very long way from what I was. I have lost about 80 lbs and 96 inches. But this stall thing is starting to depress me. Any incouraging words of advice would be very helpful. Hey - your pic looks great! I know what you mean. I've lost like two pounds in a month, and that was in the past three days and probably only because I can't eat much right now. So, I know it sucks, but everyone says it will pick up again, just not as fast. You look really good though! Clarissa 346/239/150

Clarissa, Thank you so much. I really needed that. It helps to know that someone else is going through the same thing. Rocquetta 333/252/175

DON'T GET DISCOURAGED! I was feeling the same way and now it is starting to come off again. I have to say that is part of the harder parts is the stalls, You could always try the plateau buster diet which is on a previous post. You look great tho! Keep up the good work Diana 267/199/165

Diana...I read your response to Rocquetta about her stall and was courious about the plateau buster diet you mentioned. I looked and couldn't find it. Could you possibly tell me more about it or give me the date that the message was posted. Thanks! Kristie 280/205/145

I found it on www.theroadtothin.com I too have been stalled for over a month now. Driving me bonkers. I just started the Plateau Buster yesterday and I think it will work. In truth, I was giving my body too many carbs and went from being a fat burning machine to a carb burner. It is depressing how much I like carbs - and once I start, it seems to give me unconscious permission to continue. But we all have to remember this surgery is a journey, not a quick fix. I understand the physiology behind it, but being stalled for so long is miserable! Good luck to all of us - we just need to ride out these little bumps in the overall grand plan! Goood luck!

Hi Rocquetta, I'm sorry you've been stuck for so long. Though not as long, I just broke a 3 week stuck. Were you at this weight for sometime in your past for an extended time? I've been told that your body remembers previous stable weights and wants to stay there for a while. Don't forget to change up what you're doing for your exercise. After about 6-8 weeks your body gets used to a routine and will stop reacting as well we'd like. Don't lose heart - you're doing great, you look great - and you're not done losing the weight yet. You're still ahead of what my doctor says is the normal weight loss of 8-10 lbs per month. Another way to look at your progress is to create a weight chart similiar to this one http://www.bariatricsupportcenter.com/index.php?module=BSCIsuccess&func=displayPage&puid=7123 Scroll to the bottom to see it. Dawn, Thank you. You know I was this weight from my junior year in high school until I had my first child. So about 5 years. I never thought about that before but it does make sence. I know I am above the weight loss that is recommended by my doctor also and I said before that if I didn't lose any more I would be happy but now that I am not losing I am not happy with where I am at. I guess that is why I am taking this stall so hard. I still don't want to be skinny but I would like to be able to be smaller than what I am right now. I am healthier now and that was my biggest concern when I started this journey. I am going to see if I can find a weight loss chart for weekly weight loss on the intertnet and see if I can download it to my stuff on here. Maybe that will help me deal better with this. Our buddies that had surgery in June and July hit a stall as well at four or five months out that lasted 4-5 weeks. I posted on their boards in December because I did not lose anything for five weeks. I ended up losing eleven pounds in November and December, but it was a long hard ride. I am now frustrated once again. I have run almost two miles a day while holding three pound hand weights every day for the past two weeks plus walked during my morning and afternoon breaks at work and I have gained four pounds. Like you, I am eating, drinking and exercising like I am supposed to do. I hate these head games! I have not lost anymore inches either. 276/210/130 (I was 206 until I started exercising a lot)
