Ulcers?

I am wondering if any of you have had problems with ulcers? I was in the hospital most of last night with severe persistant abdominal pain. I waited about two hours before I would go, but it wouldn't stop. The doctors there said it was severe acid relux. But my surgeon says my acid reflux should be gone, but it seems to have gotten worse since surgery. So he's no suggesing that it could be an ulcer. It was a sharp, sometimes burning sensation, that started in my lower stomach the moved up to where the pouch is. It was central, almost in a line, from my pouch down for the rest of the night. They gave me the "G.I. ****tail" and it reduced it to a dull stomach ache. I am on Prevacid for one week now, and if it continues, I'll have an endoscopy done. Ugh!! Clarissa 346/239/150

Hi Clarissa, Yuck! No issues with ulcers, but I know we're now prime canidates because we have so little stomach. That's why I'm only allowed Tylenol and until maybe this month (I haven't gotten around to asking if I can have it now) no citris. I would hope your surgeon would have noted an ulcer when the surgery was done, but maybe it was so small he didn't see it, or you've just started to develop one. I hope the Prevacid helps and at least they won't have much to search if you have the endoscopy so it should take long. Small consolation I know. Dawn

Hey Dawn. I have only taken liquid tylenol since surgery, no asprin or anything like that. I seem to be feeling better yesterday and today, but it's still there. Thanks for your response.
