Need your input please.......Lost 72 and holding........
Hello everyone.........
I have lost 72 pounds so far and feel I am losing inches now. I have lost 100lbs overall if you include before surgery weight. Have many of you stalled at about 4/5 months out. I have been stalled for 8/9 days thus far. It is almost like my rapid weight loss have stopped. Did you guys wake up one day and continue to lose again? Please help my sanity....haha...I also have to stop getting ont he scale so much....
Thank you in advance for you advise......
Lisa
I have lost 105 so far. My scale hasn't moved at all in almost a month, so I am assuming that my rapid weight loss is over too. But, I've still been losing inches, so that's always good! I hope I can lose 5 - 10 pounds a month from now on though. I do not exercise like I should, so that probably has some affect on my weight loss. Hope you pick up soon! Good luck
I had my surgery a couple days before yours. Ever since my first week out, I go through the same cycle...1-2 week stall...week of 1 pound a day, then stall again. I've gone from a size 24/26 to a 12. I find that after the 2 week stall, I drop a size...literally in 1 or 2 days! So, I've started to go jeans shopping (since that's all I wear) towards the end of the 2 week stall. It's very weird. I'll try on clothing in a size smaller than I am wearing and I can't zipper em. I go back 1-2 days later, and they slide on like butter. I guess my body has developed a sense of humor...or a way for me to mentally cope with the stall on the scale!

Hi Lisa,
Just wanted to let you know that a stall at 4-5 months is really normal. I had my surgery in June and all of us on the June board went through our first major stall between 4-5 months. Everyone lost inches though. Rapid weight loss seems to slow at this time, but weightloss does continue, just at a slower rate. Keep up what you are doing...72 lbs is great!!
Good luck, Debra

PS: Not sure why my post went under my sister's name..weird. It did the same thing on a post in the June board. Think it's right now>
I'm by no means a fast loser, I've lost 61 lbs since surgery. But I've still been stalled for the last month. I've only lost two lbs in the last four weeks. However, I lost another lb today, so hopefully it will pick up again. Considering I have about 75lbs to go, I sure hope it picks up soon.

Hi Lisa
The last post under my name was my sister, Debra Harlander. She had her surgery in June, I had mine August 15th. Not sure why her post went under my name. Anyway, I stalled also for a while & my weight loss went down considerable in December. Might be picking up a little now, but who knows. As long as I continue to go down, I guess that's a good thing.
Keep your chin up...it'll come off...

Lisa,
I just got over a three week plateau. I am at a total lose of 75 lbs. This was my first real plateau so I feel lucky. I have not measured since the first of the month but I think that I continue to lose inches since my clothes fit differently each time I put them on. I too need to stay away from the scale. My plan was to weigh on the 15th and last day of month but I am on the scale a lot more than that. In the last two weeks I have gotten into more of an exercise routine by using my elliptical at least five times a week for at least 25 minutes. I plan to start doing some weight lifting as soon as we get the basement set up for the machine we will be borrowing from family. Lets hope that if the weight loss does slow now that it will continue at a steady rate. I hope for 5 to 10 pounds a month until goal. If that happens I will be at goal by my one year anniversary.

WOW - I thought I was the only one losing at this rate, and was trying desperately not to get discouraged. I have lost 68 lbs in the 5 months, and seem to read all about the losers in the 80-100lb range.
I am certainly not a model post-op and sometimes wonder if the Dr forgot to work on my brain during surgery...how did all of these other post-ops magically wake up and stick to yet another eating and exercise plan??
I just hope and pray that the weight keeps coming off...

LOL I love your comment cause I have been thinking the same thing off and on (usually when I am discouraged) I get down on myself and then read how some are just doing everything by the book and I think dang I am still broke! but I just keep the up this litany "Just cause you can doesn't mean you should" and I keep workin my way down the scale slowly (kinda) but surely! Over all we all have to keep in mind this is the most weight we have lost in (hmm my case anyway) lets see EVER ~
I think we are all doing great
