Poll: What is your dream outfit?
Does anybody have a dream outfit that they invision themselves wearing when they get to goal? I have often thought of what I would like to be able to wear. Of course I thought of the "little black dress". But I think my dream outfit would be a pair of low-rise jeans and one of those cute little halter tops with the asymetrical hems. Of course, I am not sure what my arms are gonna look like but hopefully it won't be too obscene! I wear low-rise jeans now, size 16 whoo hoo! But I would love to be about a size 8 instead!
What is your dream outfit??

Hi,
I am wearing the low rise jeans and the size 12 are getting too big. I bought some size 10 and they fit nice. I want to be able to wear a top and have my stomach show and have my stomach look nice and tight. I hope that day will come. Oh and to wear a bikini again. I am a California Girl and being fat and going to the beach has been tough for the last 12 years. I went to the doctor for my 6 month check up , however I am only 4.5 months post op and he asked if I was working out. I was so proud to say yes at curves everyday on my lunch hour. He then sat me down and told me that my sin was not that bad and I probably would never get PS paid by insurance. He also told me I need to sweat so much it looks like I took a shower or at least need one. He also said that my muscles need to burn...He stated if I want to stay thin when I get there I better start building and strengthening my muscles because that will keep the weight off. So I am starting this week to go to curves on my lunch hour and then Ballys because of that free 8 week program and try spinning. yoga, pilates, weight lifting and everything they have to offer.
With all the crunches I plan to do maybe I will lose faster and someday get to look good in the dream outfits before my child graduates from Middle School. That gives me 2 years.....

Hi! read your post about Ballys and Curves..Ballys is actually better and less expensive..but because of the 2 month pass and everyone's NY resolutions, the clubs tend to get more crowded this time of year.
Ive previously done the exercise programs at Lucille Roberts, Ballys and other clubs..I have had a 3 yr membership at my club since 9/03 and not sorry about it.
About working out- here is the secret to burning fat: You need t change the way you think about how your body works. You need aerobic and weight lifting or strength training. Here is why:
During aerobic exercise- whether it is treadmil, rowing, elliptical trainer,
spinning or a yoga/ pilates class (they burn the least), your body is only burning calories for the amt of time you are exercising..say 45 mins.
Weight Training - you are building your muscles. Muscles weigh more and also BURN FAT. Think of your muscles as mini metabolic furnaces..the more you fuel or build them- the more you will burn fat. On top of that-with
weight training you BURN LONGER than the time you exercise..you actually "raise" your resting metabolism, and will continue burning fat while you sleep. Dont think of your body as being overweight, think of it as being UNDERmuscled..ALso what happens classically with weight training, your body loses 100% body fat. When we lose weight now- if you are not working out- you are losing fat +muscle. The body will break down the muscle for needed protein..thats why dieting alone never really works.
You lose tone & muscle. With weight training- you SAVE & BUILD muscle and therefore your weight loss= 100% bodyfat. Also this is another reason why your scale will STALL. You will hear people say they lost inches- they are losing bodyfat, and because you workout- will gain and keep your muscular tone. And women do NOT have to every worry about "bulking up"
You would have to workout like 4+hrs day/ and have more testosterone
to make that happen.
Pilates/Yoga is good discipline for toning, But I would recommend working with free weights and possibly a trainer a few sessions, so you can target and focus on specific body parts. Its called isolating muscles, and thats what you need to sculpt your body.
Hope this gives you more insight as to what your doctor advised you and WHY he said what he did.
Hugs,
Donna
Low rise jeans (like from Gap), white snug t-shirt, black belt, black heeled boots, and a blazer. I always wanted to wear this on Casual Fridays, but I just didn't look as good as the skinny ones who wore it when I worked at an investment bank. I'm getting close. I always have wanted to shop at Gap and could never fit in their clothes.

I always wanted to be able to wear a pair of jeans & not feel like I'm going to explode them apart any second.... So as most of you....Low rise jeans with a form fitting v-neck t-shirt (probably 3/4 length sleeves because of the BATWINGS).... Of course the nice little black dress is always in the back of your mind. I have 2 weddings to attend this year. My sisters in April & my nephews in August. I'm actually VERY excited to shop for my outfits....
This was fun....thanks for posting....
OH PS>>>>>> MY SCALE IS MOVING AGAIN...WOOOO HOOOOOO
