I know I have posted this same dilemma before, but I hate when the scales aren't moving. I haven't lost much at all for the last month. Every day when I weigh it is within the same pound. I could just scream!!! I get soooo afraid I'm not going to lose anymore much less make it to goal. I know I'm not drinking enough water, or any fluid, but still... I do exercise. I go to Curves and am trying. I tell myself I will have a "liquid" only day but I never stick to it. Maybe this would help, I don't know. It seems like my body just is doing its own thing. Very frustrated. I'm such a scale addict and just hate how it effects my moods.. Gianna 244/183/120ish

I am in the same boat!! I have been watching the same 3 lbs. for almost 3 weeks! It has happened when I hit 210-214 and it is happening again between 188-193. Today it was 189 again. Hopefully it will start to go down again. I was fearful the other day that I was finished losing at 4 mos out & my DH assured me I wan't! Hang in there - it will start coming down again! Keep up your liquids! Hugs, Laura 260/254/189/150

I hear ya! Three weeks for me. This morning I have decided I will not get on the scale until the 15th. I have been tracking my weight at mid and end of the month so will wait until mid month to get back on the scale. I know this is normal but very frustrating! We all feel your pain. Lynne 276/205/146

I know how you feel. I lost 6 lbs in December & have been teetering between 217.5 & 219 since the end of December. Yesterday I saw 217.5 for the 2nd time (not in a row though) and today I'm back to 218. I saw the 217, so I stay with that for my current weight. Even though I weigh every day, I record the lowest. Crazy, I know, but it keeps me going. The last couple of days i've been DILIGENT about getting at least 60 grams of protein & 48-64 oz of liquid. The exercise is still lacking. I found a taco soup recipe on one of the other boards & it's awesome. 1/2 cup is 132 cals & 10 grams of protein, a full cup is 263 cals & 21 protein. Add 1/3 cup of shredded cheese & add another 7 grams of protein. It kind of tastes like chili with a taco twist...it is yummy..... I will post the recipe on the board titled Taco Soup-Protein Punch.... Keep the faith.... I certainly know how frustrating it is. I am trying to convince myself that the losing isn't over as well. Have you heard this: we tend to stall longer at the weights that we stayed at longer in the past... So far it's been true to me... I thought I might share it with you , gyus... hugs, Rita 5'7' 255/194/160sh-150sh

Wow. I did hear that before, but somewhere along the way I forgot it. You're absolutely right! Thanks for the reminder. I feel a little relieved. This current stall I am at...I weighed this weight for 3 years about 14 years ago. Damn set point!!! Samantha

Oh my gosh...then I am completely normal?? It would make since as I have been at this weight before, for a long time. I guess you are right...stupid set points! I have been so frustrated! I had been losing consistently and then went on a business trip for two weeks. Lost 5 pounds the first week...YEAH! Then nothing in the 5 weeks since. I have been BUSTING my fanny working out, lots of cardio, some weight training. Nothing. Same 1-2 pounds up and down. I even cut my calories, tried upping my calories, nothing. At this point I NEVER want to travel for business again! And if I do, I think I will live, eat, breathe, and drink only protein. I don't know what I did wrong to have caused this stall...I was even better with my calories and protein while I travelled! But maybe what you say is true. All I know is it needs to move soon! I am going nuts and taking everyone around me with me. I do a "Scale Watch 2006" 3x a day and call those close to me to whine. Excessive I know, but move baby, please move! Maybe I should clarify...move DOWN baby, move DOWN! I was supopsed to go to a support meeting Monday and my husband said we should go because "it is good for our emotional health." Um, no, what would be GREAT for my emotional health would be for the darn scale to move down! I went to kickboxing instead. Still, nothing. Hang in there guys and gals, you are NOT alone. Much luv an good tidings... Gina

Same here! I started the plateau buster diet this morning to try to make the scale move down again. For some reason the stalling is REALLY bugging me this time.

The plateau buster is generally for stalls (plateaus) that last 6 weeks or longer. But I'm at the end of my rope with this stalling - I had to go on and give it a shot. I started today, and won't weigh until the end of the 10 days. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Here's the diet ~ How to break a plateau #1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau #2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day #3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day #4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day beef pork chicken turkey lamb fish eggs low fat cheese cottage cheese plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?) peanut butter beans/legumes You may also have: sugar free popsicles tea or coffee sugar free soda sugar free jello broths/bullion (sp?) crystal light drinks #5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!! #6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily In addition to the Plateau Buster, change your exercise plan as well. Such as if you are walking, join Curves, if you are a Curves member, do walking on days that you don't do Curves. If you are a member of Curves, join a gym or buy free weights and alternate between Curves and the gym or free weights for 5 days a week.
