what i am talking about is the loose skin...you know those wrinkled dogs...well lets just say there are some similarities. and even in my face..have that turkey neck thing going on...i am thrilled about loosing over a 100 lbs..but i hope eventually my skin will catch up....and bat wings did i mention that...omg! i dont think plastic surgery will be an option for me..due to insurance. i hope i didnt loose the weight just to keep covered up in long sleeves etc. and yes ive been excersizing. someone please say it does get better

OH Laurie, I don't know if it gets better. I heard drink lots of water for the skin. I think it will get some what better. For me I am going to start saving some money and in a few years decide what I can afford and what bothers me the most and have PS. The lady at work is trying for the tummy tuck. Our Insurance paid for another lady at work. Now they are giving this other lady a hard time. The doctor and the lady are doing a 3 month thing and then if the insurance doesnt approve she is going to sue because the other lady got it but not her. So we will see what happens when I get there. Congrats on the 100 lbs I hope I get there. Diana 263/192/135

I am a bit concerned too and I haven't even hit the 100#'s lost mark. I am not sure if my insurance will cover it either, I figure that is a bridge I will cross when I get to it. But I have been told the more you exercise the less amount of excess skin you will have. I have the whole bat wing thing going on too. I think some of it will just be there and some of it comes and goes, because I had alot on my neck in the midst of losing and now it has tightened up a bit. Of course it would all depend on where you had the most to lose also. Good luck and Great JOB on your loss! Diana 267/202/165

Hi everyone, I actually work for a plastic surgeon that works with alot of post- wls patients. The insurance companies are getting harder to get panniculectomy's approved [ tummy tuks ]. The best advise I have is for anyone that may want this done is to go to your primary care doctor for any and all rashes that you get or might have. If they can take pictures and have good documentation it will give you a better chance of it being deemed medically necessary. I have lost 81lbs so far and my poor girls [ boobies] look like long dog ears ....Gotta luv it...Hope this helps.... 319/238/140 goal.....

Laurie, Not sure if it gets any better. I have bat wings BIG TIME..... My exercise could be better. Can't wait for the nice weather to return to upstate NY. I don't know if my insurance will pay for PS on my arms so I may be stuck with getting California Slimmers or something along that line. Guess I'll cross that bridge when all the weight is off. They are undergarment seamless shapers. Rhonda Shear sells her version on HSN which are cheaper. She has an arm control shaper that I'll definately have to try out. The only thing is on the reviews it says they tend to run because they're made of 92% nylon & 8% spandex. You can check them out at hsn.com/cnt/prod/default.aspx?webp_id=2075213&web_id=2075221&sz=0&sf=&dept=&cat=&subcat=&gs=&attr=&ocm=sekw Don't forget the www Tammy

Laurie! From what I observed and heard from other people who had WLS earlier, it gets better a little bit ....because skin catches up somewhat later.... but of course, noone goes from a "Sharpei" to "Labrador".. .... and I think that upper arms and thighs are the hardest to get rid of. But with help of clothing and undergarmets we can mask lots of "imperfections." My personal fear is my neck... right after it's now been revealed and made me remember that I belonged to long-necked type in the past (it was just hiddden beneath the layers of fat), I'm now starting to have wrinkly/goose type of a deal going...it's upseting.... but I'm becoming good at accessorizing with all kinds of scarfs... they can be very stylish, you know.. At this time I don't forsee any PS in my future due to financial /Ins issues, but you never know. best of luck to you in loosing weight and hanging to a good skin.....hugs, Rita
