Scale addict needing a fix!

Okay, I know MANY people tell us to stay off those scales. And I can see why that might be a good idea. But I have been a scale addict since surgery. The past couple of days no matter when I weighed I was getting the same number on my scale. So yesterday I changed the battery, sure enough the number dropped back to what my lowest weight thus far has been. I mentioned to DH and my oldest son that the 9 volt battery I put in wouldn't pop all the way into the connection, so my son went to 'fix it'. He got it all the way in, now it's broke. When you step on, it gives several lines and then an error message. DH worked on it last night with no luck. Today, I'm SERIOUSLY needing my fix! It's gonna drive me nuts. I'll bet I end up at Wal Mart today to buy a new one. UGH! Anyone else a scale addict? I know, I'm ! Connie 8/01/05 269/193/163 surgeons goal/150 my goal

Oh yeah...I am addicted, too! Can't help it! The scale at the YMCA is the closest to Dr. Spencer's and the one at home is about 4 pounds off, but I can't fix it. I am going to get a new one, too! I know I should not do it more that once a day at most, but I do it in the morning, afternoon (at the YMCA) and at night before bed. At least now I know that I am not alone! Yes I weigh every day and I am driving myself crazy because over the last week I went up 3 lbs and now I am back down to being only .8 above my low weight. I cant help it but this week it has been the worst thing i could have done to myself. I am driving myself crazy.

I admit to being a scale junkie also which has been very frustrating this week, as I have not lost a pound since Christmas. Definitely need to get back into my routine now that everyone is back to work and school and get all my water in. Mary

I sure am glad I'm not alone in this! And yes, I did go buy a new scale at lunch today. I can't wait to get home and try it out!

Wow! I was just telling that to some others that if I forget to weigh in the mornings, I worry about it all day long. I'm so addicted to it. Every morning, first thing I do is go to the scales. I get mad at myself cause I know I shouldn't work myself up like that. You are not alone!

Oh God... How do you live with no scales?! I stay on my scales! I've gotten a little bit better, since I basically know when I'm stalling (all the time it seems lol). Yeah - you definately need to get some more scales before you have withdrawls...

Yes, I'm a scale addict. I thought I was on it too much, so I moved it to my basement bathroom thinking that would help... now I just get more exercise each morning when I head to the scale... Remember, the first step is admitting you have a problem....lmao hugs Kim

Hey Connie, Yeah, I'm a scale addict!! Can't seem to help myself. I guess I'll take this addiction over the one that got me into the WLS fix anyday! I would rather be weighing myself, then eating just to eat anymore. As Dr Phil says, "We replace one habit with another one." So, I'll take this one to overeating anyday. Best of luck finding your new scale! Lori 293/233.5/135
