Gastroparesis diagnosis
Hi gang,
Some of you may remember that I've been having difficulty with solid food since my surgery. I've had 2 endoscopies where strictures were ruled out. My latest endo was done this past Tuesday...I was in the hospital since Christmas with a suspected abcess in my new pouch. (a fluid-filled sac appeared on a CT scan, which turned out to be a severe case of gastritis). So, while I was in there my nut. has suggested that gastroparesis may be the cause of my ongoing battles with solid food. Has anyone else been diagnosed with this? In researching this, I've learned that one of the causes could be from damage to the vagus nerve during gastric bypass surgery. Since I never had a problem before, I'm starting to wonder if this could be my problem now...?
Being in the hospital over Christmas was rotten, by the way! Now I'm back to clear liquid diet until I see my surgeon next week!
Aaarrrggghhhh!
Hi Toni,
So sorry to hear that you have been having such a hard time. However, I am glad that found the problem. It may have been more serious if it had gone undiaginosed. Sorry about your having to be in the hospital for Christmas, that's a real bummer!!
Hope you are on the mend and the journey goes smoother from here on out for you.
Best of Luck!
Lori
