My first real Plateau
Hi Everyone,
I have not lost one pound in two weeks. I went and asked a Lady here at work that had WLS 2 years ago and she said some of her plateaus lasted 3 months towards the end. So I believe this is my first offical one. I have had stalls but not this long. I am 3 pounds from my 4th month goal of 196 and my 4 month is Christmas Day so you all know what I want for Christmas this year! Merry Christmas to all of you and I hope everyone loses what they want.

Hi Diane,
I've had a difficult time losing since the surgery. It started out great...24 pounds the first month, then switched to 12 and one month was only 7. It was really hard for me to see how much everyone here on the August boards were loosing and feeling depressed that it has been going slow for me.
December has been a good month because I finally hit the 50 pound mark on week 2 and have lost 6 more since then. I don't know if I'll ever hit goal, but I am happy that the weight is moving downward for once. When I think that just 20 weeks ago I weighed 293 and today I weigh 237 I am amazed. I have also lost over 40 inches overall. That is awesome to me.
I no that plateaus are going to hit and I know I had one so far. But, I just think of where I was and feel happy with where I'm at. Healthwise, this was the best decision for me. I saw my cardiologist on Tue. and he lowered my blood pressure med and my cholestrol med. I am now considered non-diabetic and that was my goal. That alone is worth this slow progress for me. To take sugar measurements each day and see number like 88 to 107 makes me do the happy dance! I didn't think I would ever get my sugars back to normal. My cholestrol went from 187 just a year ago to 126 as of 11/30/05.
Health is returning to me and I will take that over anything anytime. Do I still feel sorry for myself when the weight stahls? Yes, but then I think of where I was before and where I am now. Happier in my life and looking for someone special in my life. I didn't even have the nerve to think that way before loosing 56 pounds.
I wish you your Christmas gift wish and pray you have a wonderful Christmas. May the scale move down soon for you!!!!
Blessings,
Lori
