Hi guys. I know hair loss is to be expected and I thought that I'd deal with it fine. I have had damaged hair for a while before my surgery. I dyed it too much. Now that it is starting to come out it looks even worse. It is thin and frizzy. Any tips on what I can do to help my hair look healthier and thicker. Crissy

I know the feeling. Mine is coming out in clumps! I can't believe how much hair I have lost. It is feeling very frizzy and thin too. I have naturally curly, thick hair. I have it dyed and highlighted every few months since I was 14. I just hope it stops falling out soon... unfortunately, we are just in the beginning of it. I guess our window of hairloss is from 3-6 months out. Little over two months to go! ugh! I just hope I have hair left! Lori

My hair is coming out in clumps as well. I can't wear black at all.

When I pull the towel off my head, there is always a clumped of matted up hair attached. I can't believe it. We are huge CSI fans and I told my son that I am leaving my DNA all over creation! I found a gathering of hair in the armpit of my fleece jacket the other day! Talk about gross! I just hope it stops soon... Lori

Just make sure you don't commit any crimes until after your hair loss stops. LOL! My clumps up in one spot as well. I feel like a reject at times Oh well, at least I am a reject losing weight.

If this keeps up for 3 more months I will be bald Do you guys think that cutting it short would be a good move or a bad move? Crissy

My hair has always been long. I don't know if I could cut it short and not have my husband have a cow. I have thought about it but then I thought it would make it look even thinner. I don't know... I like the shorter sassy style with the hair flipped up all over but don't know if it would look good on me. So for now... all I do is put it up in a loose pony tail holder so it won't pull on it even more. Lori

I started noticing hair loss at about 6 weeks out and now, well, as my friend who also had surgery said "let's hope the sinead o'connor look is popular! I use Nioxin products and that helps. I always have pretty short hair, my hair stylist cut it this week with lots of layers in the top so the thinning isn't so noticable. The one good thing, I think people are so busy noticing that we have lost weight, they don't seem to notice the hair. I would guess it would be more noticeable with long hair. Find a good hair person and talk to them... Good Luck and Happy HOlidays, Karen

The lady who takes care of our house asked if I had chemo because of all the hair everywhere. Sadly, I have no tips. The golden lining is that my hair drys faster. What I'm mainly upset about is that why can't my icky facail hair fall out if the hair on my head is going to? - Torrey (281/227/140)

My hair is coming out as well. Hopefully, it slows down soon. Everyone I've talked to say that it comes back looking better than before, so that's what I'm looking forward to. It will get better I'm sure. I haven't heard of anyone actually going bald with this surgery. I do use a anti-frizz serum before I dry it and I use a straightener (which probably isn't the best thing at this time). It keeps the frizz down & it's manageable. I just look to the end when it's done falling out & starts to come back better than before. Tammy
