lab Results after 4 mos
I had some terrible gout attacks due to elevated uric acid levels
after my surgery(8/25)so i had some blood work done recently just to
see if there are any abnormalities and the good news is my uric acid
level went from 12 to 6.8 which is good for any Gout sufferers out
there since that is the normal level. I have "stable" blood sugars
for a diabetic accdg. to my doctor, Iron, Calcium, etc. are at normal
levels. The bad news is my cholesterol and triglycerides are slightly
elevated. I can attribute this to my protein first diet. My meals
consist mainly beef dishes, some vegetables on occasions, these are
the only things that would stay down. I'm unable to tolerate fish,
pork and chicken. My doc has put me back on Lipitor. Anyone else
have this problem especially with their cholesterol
Here is the Lab results:
Total Cholesterol is 212- s/b less than 200
HDL " is 31 - s/b greater than 40
LDL " is 136 - s/b less than 130
Triglycerides is 227 - s/b less than 150
My Doc's comments were "Watch diet. Sugars stable but cholesterol higher. Start Lipitor. Re-check labs in 3 mos.
Great news on the uric acid levels. My brother battles gout & I know how painful it can be. Sounds like everything else is good and really your cholesterol isn't all that bad. Do you know what your numbers were before surgery?? I haven't had experience with this, but wanted to respond anyway.
Keep us posted
