always a lurker
just thought i would finally jump in and give my stats....
heaviest ever - 282
day of surgery - 252
this morning - 201
i had been stuck for a good three weeks (yes, i weigh every single solitary day first thing in the morning after using the rest room and naked....) and after coming back from visiting family in virginia and no scale - she finally moved! its been hard. sometimes i think i am sooo far behind everyone else but then i look at the size of my jeans now - 14 in the "little girls dept" and i am happy. not too happy about losing my boobs - but hey - i am not going to complain. i will more than likely get those fixed next year. i started drinking protien drinks for breakfast and a snack in the am and one in the evening and lunch and dinner and i am doing ok. alot of the time i feel like i eat wayyyy toooo much. does anyone know "how much is too much"?? i was so hoping to get under the twos before thanksgiving - but it just didnt happen for me. i always want things in my time - not someone else's time frame - you know....?? i know i need to increase my exercise - i am soooo slack with that.
how is everyone else feeling this morning?

Hi Lurker,
First of all, you are doing GREAT!
My Dr and his dietician said to not worry about calories, etc, to work on the protein. But, I am not drinking protein drinks, just eating real food. I find that I stay somewhere in the neighborhood of 700-800 calories if I get my 50-60 grams of protein. I do eat some veggies and salads but am very careful about dressings (lo-fat, lo-sugar). I also have an occasional bite of potato or some pasta.
I had lots of trouble figuring out how much I was eating (calorie and protein wise****il I started using www.fitday.com to help keep track of my intake. This site figures out what you are getting in. You can also put specific foods you are eating into it (customize) to help. Can't recommend this site enough. Try it for a few days and see if it helps you figure out if you are eating too much. Your Dr. can tell you a range for calories, etc. But seems like most are more concerned about the amount of protein.
Good Luck!
You're doing great
Make sure when you're looking at other peoples stat's that you look at their surgery date. You were at the end of August & there's alot of us that are 2 or 3 weeks ahead of you.
My dr's nutritionist also said not to look at cal's & I should try to focus on the protein. It's hard to figure this out some days, but it gets easier as time goes by. I know I'm not getting my protein in most days, but I do my best. I was stuck for a few weeks like you & then lost 11 pounds in 10 days. I guess our bodies go in cycles.
Keep up the great work. I use fitday.com also & it's a great tool.
Keep us posted
Tammy
