Stomach discomfort anyone?
I am 12 weeks post op and have lost 50+ lbs. I am drinking about 50-60 oz. of water a day plus getting in 60 to 70 grams of protein. I am happy with my weightloss and my water/protein intake but....my stomach hurts more than it does not. Anyone else struggling with this? Sometimes I think I am forcing the intake but how else do you get everything in? It seems like every minute is spent eating, drinking or waiting in between drinking and eating.
I guess I just needed to have a pity party! But am interested if anyone else is feeling as I am.

We are very close to being exactly the same! I had surgery a day after you. I don't get the stomach ache you are talking about but have been getting queasy more lately. Feeling like I need to barf after I eat. I am eating the same kinds of things I have been eating for weeks now. I haven't changed anything. I too feel like I spend way too much time eating and drinking and waiting to drink. But there are days when I just don't feel like eating. But.. a few weeks ago, that was a different story. I felt like I couldn't eat enough. I would say that you should talk to your surgeon about it just to be safe though. It could be an ulcer. I had ulcers before surgery (think I still have one) and boy sometimes it hurt like heck. Felt like a gallbladder attack sometimes (mine was removed back in 1992). I wish you luck my dear. Hopefully it is nothing to worry about and just a grouchy pouch.
Take care,
Lori

Lynne,
I had surgery the same date you did. I think I just have a fussy and grumpy new little Lexus. There are days I can eat carefully just fine and other days that my protein shake with a few frozen strawberries in the blender are hard to keep down.
I am thinking this is just an inconvenience and the surgery is simply working for me. As of today I have lost 45.5 pounds and personally thought oh well what is a few days all day of the foamies, or eat a tiny bit and either feel I need to throw up but keep it down or ooops here it comes up whether I wanted it to or not!
Today is Lexus Grumpy day and even my shakes have been received by Lexus with much grumbling.
I have been able to eat steak if I chew it well, but other times my Lexus says, No Way Jose!
Today is liquid day for me.
Lynne,
I feel ya sister. My RNY was 8/16/05. I know my family get sick of me saying "I feel sick". It seems that eating makes me nausious. I would just rather not eat than deal with that feeling. I think I did better with food at about 8 weeks than I am now. I am losing though so I guess I cant complain. I am down 59lbs so far! Be Blessed Tracy Payne
