Am I The Only One???
Hi Everyone,
I had my 3 month visit yesterday & have lost 44 lbs since surgery (51 total). They were very please with this. However, we were discussing what I can eat & when I told them I could eat a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, the nutritionist said that's too much for 3 months out. If is something mooshy like cottage cheese, oatmeal etc... I can eat 1/2 cup, but if i'm eating regular foods like meat it's alot less. She said I should be at 1-2 oz. Makes me kinda nervous. I'm probably getting like 600-800 cal's in a day, but she said they don't have a calorie target. It seems I've stalled alot lately. She said reduce calories & increase exercise. I've been doing a 45 minute work out video daily that incorporates cardio, strength training, stretch & yoga. Not sure how much more exercise I can do. I don't think I could reduce my calories much more than what I already eat. This whole process can be so hard to figure out sometimes. I wouldn't change a thing though, that's for sure. I'm thankful every day for this tool.
Anyway, just curious if anyone else can do 1/2 cup of mooshy food.
Take Care Everyone
Tammy

No, you're not. I think i'm much worse. I have tried rice, pasta, corn, and most especially bread, none of which i can keep down but 2 weeks ago I have discovered a carb, particularly, chow fun(like chow meain but flat noodles) that i can tolerate and eat as much as 2 cups. . I had my surgery on 8/25 and have lost 61 lbs but since i discovered this particular carb, I have gained 5 lbs, so from 215 back up to 220. This really sucks but i only blame myself. I can tolerate a lot more solid foods now but i still occassionally throw up on some of 'em. It is also making me nervous. I guess i have not come to terms with food. I am terrified of regressing.

Hi Tammy,
Not to worry you are not the only one.... I can eat about 1/2 a cup to 3/4 of soft food too... 1/4-1/2 of real food... I was told by my doctor that this was fine and totally normal. Our pouches become less ridged over time and its natural that we can eat a bit more food.
Hope this helps!

I've only had 2 flls and I can still really eat! At least 1-2 cups worth! I was wondering how many fills have you all had? I was behind due to a Hematoma. I was told that after this filll I would not be able to guzzle liquids. I can. I can not tell at all. Or could it seem like it's more food because we eat more often? or more regularly?
Hi Tammy,
I, too, think that I eat too much. I'm able to get in 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, etc. I still get sick on solid foods and I think the reason is because I probably eat too much of it. I've tried to eat an entire cup of yogurt but usually can't. I've lost 60 lbs since 8/17 but have stalled now for 2 weeks. I was told that I should go back to eating out of my 1-oz cups, refilling it if I'm still hungry. Since I still don't get hungry, this is difficult for me to gage and as a result I find myself grazing.
You look great...keep it up!

Looking good girl!!! I can eat a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese too..but I was told this is normal....actually I was told I need to start eating more often even if it is just a cple of bites sooo...And I hit stalls too it seems for every 10-15 lbs I am in a stall for a week or so but at that time I am still losing inches so try measuring if your in a stall I bet you are losing inches too! I think it is my bod's way of catching up to the loss! I am 2 lbs shy of losing 80 lbs and I love it...I am feeling better about myself everyday!! Well good luck and keep us posted
