hair loss!
Hiya hun
I started losing hair around 2 1/2 months. I had thick hair to begin with and I noticed it everytime I brush my hair. I wasnt really worried about it until these last few weeks it seems like Im down to about half or maybe a little more than half. Sooo matter of fact I went out to walmart today to get some biotin, from the posts Ive read it seems like it is really supposed to help. I dont think people around me can notice but I know when I pull my hair back it feels much lighter lol, so you are defiently not alone! Oh and I have also been takin all my vit's but I had a hard time with the protein in the beginning so I think it mightve had something to do with that. I dont use hair dryer or any styling products Im au natural he he. Maybe try and get some biotin the one I got said hair, nails, and skin I believe... just make sure you read the label!!

I have been taking the biotin since my surgery on 8/23 and just started the hair loss thing, I have upped my dosage to, 2 pills a day (hoping that will help actually absorb more) I have been hearing that the shampoo and the biotin will either hel*****t depends more on the person then the protien, vitamins, etc.,etc. I figure it will happen but maybe by taking the biotin it won't be as bad!
Well good luck on your journey!

Hi Tanya, my surgery twin! I too have hit the hair loss stage. I am taking the biotin but it does not help everyone and I have not seen any results yet. There is also that shampoo called Nioxin I think. I have not bought any yet but my hair is really starting to come out so I need to. I have even started seeing my hair on the kitchen floor, ugh! I have pretty fine hair to being with so I am a little nervous but everyone keeps reassuring me in will stop before I go totally bald. I did have some hair loss after each of my csections but nothing like this! Let me know if you find anything that helps.

Looks like my hair is coming out too, and while I have a lot of hair - it isn't real thick. So I guess I have a chance of going bald. I dunno, we'll see!! My surgeon told me today since my hair is real long, the loss may look worse to me than it is - that I'm losing long strands so it looks worse than it is. Oh well - bald or not, I'm happy I had WLS!
The biotin seems to be working for me, I had a problem the first few weeks after sugery and since taking the biotin 5mg a day I see very little hair in the shower drain. My hair does not seem to be getting thicker but less falling out. You need to be sure you are getting in all your daily vitamin requirements and b12 and protein.

Tanya,
My surgeon had me taking biotin at 4 weeks out. 1 pill a day to help with that. I have started seeing my hair come out but nothing like when I had my gall bladder removed 9 years ago. I was told that it isn't just low protein that causes this but also stress from the major surgery that we had and it is normal for it to come out from 3 months to around 8 months.

I have very thin hair to start with and noticed some of it falling out and freaked lol. I've been using BIOTIN (a natural B Vite), ZINC, lots of protiene 90+ grams and this conditioner I used every 15 days called Nioxin (sp) (have to double check on the name of it as my mother gave me samples).... Since then, my hair is fine THANK GOD! Just got it colored and cut to boot!
Yep... mine is coming out in handfuls! It didn't bother me at first cause I have LOTS of thick hair but when I wa**** in the morning I literally have my hands full of hair. Then when I bru**** more comes out. I can run my fingers through my hair and it just falls out. I am really getting worried.
I called the nutritionist and he says I need to be sure I am getting my vitamins, protien, and all of the other vitamins needed. Biotin was one of them. I started doing some research tonight and what I can find online says that we need those Essential Fatty Acids too. I am going to go get some Flaxseed tomorrow and try that. I really hope and pray it works...
