Feeling Disappointed....please help!
Hi Lori - how are you doing exercise wise and protein wise?
My surgeon says I have to do 45-60gms protein daily and I should be exercising20 mins daily.I get in one shake a day - I still have myself on a clock to remind myself to eat..I was doing 2 shakes a day- which was 50+gms + my meals.. Well so much for their guidance -
I've noticed when I up my protein intake- I lose weight. I've also noticed
that when I eat regular meals - even without a protein shake - go to the gym - do the treadmill like I did yesterday- 40mins - I lost 2lbs. I have now lost 48lbs since 8/15. Also- I recommend adding in protein bars - I get the proti 15 bars (at my docs office) & alternate those with Zone Perfect or Zone balance..I used to eat these before surgery as well. Also 64+ oz water/fluids or more helps.. I still struggle to get in all my supplements daily & will have to begin B-12 shots & I'm anemic - but doing this surgery was my best decision. I've been taking pictures since July
and cannot believe the difference- so make sure you do that - it will motivate you to keep going past 'slow' days.
And one thing about exercise - I have always been a gym person - somewaht erratic in visits - but I know what and how my body performed and reacted - before surgery -(have arthritis in my knee joints) & how much it ached following exercise or the next day, which was discouraging.. THIS TIME - my body worked at a higher level - stayed with my level of intensity - and I left feeling enhanced and invigorated & wanna go back and do more. It was thrilling- because its how I used to feel (good) and recognized the difference was the weight loss.
I hope I have helped you and offered some support - You are not a failure- you just haven't modified your program to work for you.
Don't focus on the outcome- focus on the program & the weight loss will follow. I just figured this out last month..I would be happy to help you anyway I can - my email is [email protected]
Happy Halloween!!
