Are you worried about the holidays?
HI August post-ops! Oh boy the holidays are coming up! ThanksGiving and Christmas the two BIG smorgusboards. Is anyone worried? What is your eating plan for those days and do you think you'll have a problem turning down the sweets and junk? Are you worried about everyone "watching" you to see what you put on your plate?
I'm worried that I will give in and eat some of my Auntie Jo's homemade cherry cheesecake!
I'm just wondering if anyone else out there is having some anxiety about the upcoming holidays?

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and Christmas a very close second and yes I am a bit worried. But I think we will be fine, we can have turkey and probably some mashed potatoes, but my biggest fear is the sweets, but the other day I made a homemade pumpkin pie using spenda brown sugar and it was good, my six year old even ate it!

I am worried but the good thing is I don't have a lot of family that lives near. So I am not going to have the big meals. It is good and not good I guess.
I don't have a plan. It will be difficult with the kids in the house. The constantly snack and that is hard for me. I am just going to have to live in the gym.
I am not really worried....I am planning to eat my turkey and some veggies (french cut green beans in beef bullion are ok with me). I will probably take the green beans. I just know I have come to far to go back. Remember your portion sizes...take your cups with you to measure...make sugar free pudding pie for dessert....then you can have something!

I know my pouch will take care of me during the holidays. If I eat too much, I'm rushing to nearest bathroom. That's enough cause to avoid over eating.
My big worry is baking. For Christmas every year I bake cookies. Lots and lots of cookies. Sure, I could try sugar free, but I don't think my office mates or family would ejoy it as much. So, do I pass on the baking this year? Try it, be strong enough not to eat the cookies. Maybe I'll just do one sugar free batch.

Oh yes, I am alitttle nervous about the holidays, My family has BIGGGGGG
food for both holidays, but Iam going to eat protein and vegetables and stay clear of the dessert table, besides, I am more afraid to dump!!!! I survived our cookout this summer so hopefully I"LL survive the holidays.
I was thinking about making this jello sugar free cheesecake pudding or
something like that. Hopefully I'll be satisfied from turkey and things, the
dessert won't even temp me! I'm gonna focus on having a good time with
the ones I love most!!!MZ
Thanksgiving doesn't worry me at all. Turkey and even a little mashed potato is ok. Vegies are great too. By that time who has room for dessert.
Christmas baking is the thing that worries me. I always make cookies for the neighbors and family. This year that could be a chore -- especially since I cook with recipe and by taste. Still trying to decide what I will do.
I am proud of myself for getting through Halloween... Trick or Treaters took most of the candy and the rest went to work for distribution before I even took too seriously a look at it.
Got to stay busy exercising and following the healthy foods plan! (Aug 24, 2005 surgery date and down 50# at my 2 mo appt. Want to keep going in that direction!)
