Are any of you "WLS Sisters" having any trouble with "head hunger"? I know that I am, prior to WLS my life revolved around eating, I loveeeed to eat, and I find myself still thinking about food all the time, I just can't eat like I used to?? I'm very careful and measure my food, but I still dream about fried chicken, mac and cheese, lasangna, steak smothered in onions mushrooms and steak sauce, barbeque anything, etc, etc. I think you getmy point. I guess as time goes by, my mind will fall in line with my pouch!!!! But I have to admit, I do miss eating........My co-workers always order out from work on Fridays and I had to pass it up and I sat with them and ate some string cheese and turkey pepporoni, and I was satified, but I miss that, and I wanted some fried chicken wings so bad!!!!! (they smelled sooooo good), BUT< I NEVER REGRET HAVING THIS SURGERY AND LOSING 40LBS, going from size22/24 sometimes 26/28 to size XL (18/20)!!!! It's well worth it!!!!! I just wanted to admit that I do miss "my old friend".........LOL

Hi, I supposed I could still eat sushi, but we aren't supposed to have rice due to the swelling and possible stretching of our new little pouches... Plus since we can only eat so much, the rice would make us full too quickly.... Thats why I haven't had sushi.... B

I measured out 2 Tablespoons of Kidney Beans and put them in the micro with 2T of hamburger with cream of mushroom soup, unfortunately, I ate the first bite and the second bite too fast and now my new little Lexus has been hurting my chest cavity and making horrible grumlbling noises and now is making me feel awful. Thank God for my new Lexus not letting me eat fast and greedly like I used to. My big house dog loved the rest of my meal!!! I must slow down I must slow down I must slow down Yes, head hunger and old habits I fight all the time!!!

I'm with you Girls! I frequently misss food....and I also miss satiety that felt good... full feeling that wasn't "OMG, I feel nauseous- am I dumping?", but rather "that was a good meal, and it feels good now"...I actually miss good stuff that we can't have yet: salads, veggies like brocoli and cabage, fresh spring rolls and all kinds of SouthEast Asian salads with spicy.sour dressings.....I better stop now or I'll start drooling.......... But no way do I regret having this life changing surgery. I'd much rather drive this Lexus than a "Hummer"

I get head hunger big time. I have three small boys and they want to eat spaghetti, chili dogs and fries. I have to cook it. So I am bombarded with it constantly,

I can relate! I miss food and alcohol. At first, I felt like I had lost my best friend. I think I was a serious food addict and had no idea how bad it was until after surgery. After about two days of being home after surgery, I was evil! Everytime I even saw food on TV I'd cry or get mad LOL. It get easier of course, but I miss eating Mexican food, bread and rice. Right now, for some reason, I have lost my taste for sweet stuff (which was never a real problem for me). Things will get better for all of us

Oh yes, I do get the 'ol head hunger going and it drives me nuts but I know if I eat what I'm looking at i'll just feel like crap. The weird thing is.... a lot of what you all have mentioned I eat. I eat sushi just leave out the rice and dive into all the protein, I eat mexian just have some beans n chicken, I eat rice and beans sometimes I just make sure it's last. One thing that my doc. told me was that the quality of life is top on the list. I try a lot of different stuff and just eat tiny amounts. Shute, last night I had a small piece of pizza cuz that is what was there to eat. I pulled off the cheese and it went down just fine. Maybe not the best for me but I sure wasn't going to sit there and feel left out. Anyhoo...thats just me. Take care Sharon
