volume vs weight when measuring foods

Okay, I know I need to call my dietician, but I sleep during the day when she is at work. Maybe one of you can help?? I am supposed to eat no more than 3 ounces at a meal. Cheerios are on my list of okay foods. If I put 3 ounces of Cheerios in my little measuring cup, it is just a very small amount of Cheerios. If I weigh them on a scale it is a BIG bunch of Cheerios. So which is correct? I would assume the volume measurement, not the weight measurement, but I'm just not sure! Thanks!

Use the measuring cups. The 3 ounces should be volume. Not weight. Your belly will be full on the Cheerios believe me.. -courtney VBG 08/16/05

Hi Becky, I was wondering? Do you eat at work? Does your schedule differ from working nights? I just wanted to compare being that i work nights, especially since i don't sleep until 3pm or after( have a 19 mo. old). Thanks.....MZ

Yes, we usually have "dinner" here about 1:00 a.m. I sleep when I get home at 7 until early afternoon, so that is my breakfast. Then I eat with my family (their supper-my lunch) around 6-7 before I come to work. Night shift is tough - but the parking spaces are great!
