How is protein and drinking coming for August Buddies?
Hi August Posties,
I was just wondering how everyone is doing on getting in their protein and liquids for each day?
I seem to be albe to do much more than at 6 weeks to 8 weeks out. I am now at 11 weeks as of today. I average 950 to 1050 caleries a day with 75 to 110 g of protein and my liquid intake is up to 60 to 65 oz a day.
That is so much better than when I started out. I was lucky to get 700 caleries a day with 50 g of protein and 34 oz of liquids.
Since I've increased this in my diet, I seem to be doing better at losing. Don't want to say that too loud, or jinx myself. Here is hoping that losing will progress better now.

Hi Lori!
My doctor has his patients on a stricter diet. We are only allowed 2-300 calories a day(my actuals are probabaly 3-400). My protein is maybe 30 grams a day. We aren't allowed to drink protein shakes so it's really hard getting in the needed protein. I drink enough fluids, 50-70 oz per day. My weightloss is at 40 lbs so far. I am 7 weeks out. I was worried that I was in starvation mode but this last week proved that I am not, I lost 11 lbs. I guess I will wait and see what happens in the next few weeks before I worry.
You seem to be doing great now!

Thanks Lori,
I feel really good and my energy level is up. I can't remember the last time I weighed under 260, it must be a least 15 to 20 years ago. I have always been overweight. But this seemed impossible a couple of weeks ago. I got stuck at 263 to 265 and thought, this is it, I get to this point and something always happens to make me gain again.
When the scale moved last Saturday, I almost cried because I was under 260 at 258. It was a thrill.
I just have to remember that even if it comes off slow for me, it will come off.
Take care,
Lori

Hi there, my Dr. said to consume about 800 calories a day. I haven't been keeping track of calories so last week I thought I would start to keep track of all my food and exercise at fitday.com and it turns out I have been consuming between 750-800 a day so I'm right on target! Now my water intake is another story. I try to drink as much water and tea as I can but I can't get past 40 oz a day. As for protein, I usually get in about 50-55g a day, which for me, is good b/c I hate the drinks and last month I was probably getting 20g, so that is an improvement. My main concern right now is to just up my liquids.

My doctor advised getting in 50-60 gm protein a day. 64+ ounces fluids. I do good on the fluids - not a problem. I can't tolerate the protein drinks because most are sweetened with Nutrasweet and it does not agree with me. So most of my protein is through food and milk. I usually get in around 50 grams. No calorie restriction, just eat 2-3 ounces 2-3 times a day of the stuff on the list. I'm losing kind of slow (35 pounds since 8-25) but at least I'm losing! I feel lots better, too, and can walk so much better already! Hang in there, Lori!

I am having trouble getting in 64oz of fluids. I usually can do about 40.
I consume about 700-900 calories per day and usually get in about 50-70grams of protein. My protein goal is 71g a day. I try to get my protein from food but if I am low I will drink a shake. I worry when my calories are too low I don't want my metabolism to slow down too much where I stop losing. My nutritionist told me not to go over 28grams of fat each day which I don't think I have ever gone over. My weight loss seems to be about average and I'M NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT THAT!!!
I am down 50lbs from 260.
