I was just wondering what types of foods different ones were eating? I'm getting bored with food and was looking for some ideas. The only problem is that some things are not agreeing with me still and I'm either having to eat soft foods or I'm drinking my meals. JUST CURIOUS. Debbie

Hi Debbie, I did not eat real food until after 6 weeks. And yes the pureed and soft foods left alot to be desired. I am able to eat just about anything. Beef takes awhile to digest, but then it always did with me. Hope you are able to eat more soon Take care Joyce

I ate this when I was in purreed and soft food phase I even eat it now ... tomato sauce mozz cheese ricotta cheese microwave and you have pastaless lasagna...it's not bad really. Just make sure you choose a tomato sauce that is low sugar low fat and use part skim cheese.

hey surgery twin, just remember to always make sure your food is moist, condiments help bunches...ketchup, mustard, BBQ, anything to help get it down! Amanda M

My favorite is homemade chili. I pack it with ground turkey and red kidney beans. 22 gm protein for 3/4 cup. Sometimes I add ff sour cream or low fat cheese. Good luck Karen

At 6 weeks post-op I am still eating alot of pureed or soft foods. I eat : 1.fat-free refried beans with a little taco sauce mixed in and some melted cheese on top. 2. Chicken that is moistened with sauce or gravy and cut up really small. 3. Chili beans 4. Almost any kind of canned beans ( jus****ch the sugar & fat content) 5. Thinly sliced lunch meats 6. Hard boiled eggs, mashed really small and mixed with low fat mayo. (Fat free Mayo is just too gross) 7. Bananas, Apples, low fat peanut butter 8. Pureed baby food fruits & vegetables 9. Slim Fast Low Carb Diet drink (190 cal., 6gm carbs, 20 gm protein) This helps me fill in so that I get enough protein each day (60-80 gms) 10. Oatmeal This is only what I can eat. Everybody has different tolerance levels. You just have to take it slow. Watch the sugar and fat contents--too much can cause dumping syndrome (Ouch!) If you are able to tolerate meat make sure you cut it up really small or puree it. Take very small bites and chew it really well. (Meat is heavier than most foods and will fill you up faster so be careful not to overfill your pouch or this will cause you to dump also.) Meat is also usually one of the last things alot of people will be able to eat because it is harder to digest so don't be suprised if you have the same problem. You may also find that you have lactose intolerance so milk and icecream could make you sick. I drink Lactaid (lactose free) milk and I tolerate it just fine. Good luck, I hope this helps. Debbie A

I'm also still stuck in puree. I absolutely cannot do peanut butter, which is bumming me out. So I found a recipe for peanut butter pudding. 1/4 c of peanut butter combined with a cup of milk; nuke for about 30 seconds or until soft. Combine a pkg of Sugar Free/Fat Free vanilla pudding (Jell-O brand tastes best) with ONE cup of milk (instead of the two cups on the directions), then add the peanut butter mixture to the prepared pudding. You get about 10 g of protein with this per 1/2 cup serving or you can add a scoop of dreaded protein powder to kick it up a notch. I also puree soy meatballs with just enough ketchup to moisten it. Kinda tastes like meatloaf. Soy is packed with protein. Hope these sound tasty...
