Hi Debbie. Im glad you wrote that post I have been having that problem for the last couple days. Anytime I lean back on a chair or lean over the bed or even when I first wake up and sit up everything just goes spinnin. I have read on other posts that it could be because we are not gettin enough protein or water? I dont know for sure if its just that but since this started happenin I try count better the amount of protein and water I get in I just realized I only get about 30 oz of fluid in a day so Im tryin to up that amount, just takes forever for me to drink( like 2 hours for 8 oz). I hope that I helped in some way... I hope you feel better! Im also curious to see what else people say.... ~Sarah

Are you getting in enough water? How about vitamins? I hope you are taking AT LEAST multi, calcium, and B-12? When was the last time you had your blood levels checked? I would say (and I'm not a Dr, lol) it might be low B-12 levels or not enough water. If I were you, I would call my doctor just to be sure. Hope this helps. -Lynn Lap RNY 8-16-05 297/254/140

I had that problem for a couple of weeks early on. Part of my problem was dehydration. I just couldn't get all of my water in because I was so dizzy & nauseous. But when it got to the point where I could bearly stand, I went to see my PCP & found out my blood pressure was 70/30!!! I had high blood pressure pre-op & figured somewhere down the line I would need to reduce my blood pressure med, but it didn't occur to me that it would be 2 weeks after surgery! Of course, I had lost 27 lbs & it made a HUGE difference. I have a blood pressure monitor @ home & had attempted to take it several times, but it kept giving me an error message. I just assumed there was something wrong with my monitor. My PCP said it probably just couldn't register because it was so low! He took me off my meds immediately & within a couple of days I felt much better. That may not be your problem, but it's worth getting it checked. Hope you feel better! Judy 8/1/05 311/257/135

Hi Miss Debbie, I have no answer to your problem. I can only tell you i am 6 weeks out and have the same problem. I am feeling better now, but every other day i have a swimmy moment. I just thought it was from having major surgery at first. Then at four weeks I had a hard time eating for a full day and could hardly make myself swallow anything. I feel it was not enough protein and water. My nutritionist advises i wait 30 minutes before and 30 after eating. Between that and taking forever to eat, I dont know which was worse trying to get protein or trying to get enough water. Still a battle for me. But am learning every day. B 12 does help me so much. I can tell a big diffrence when i take it.

I asked my nurse about it yesterday. I was dizzy early after surgery & was told by the other nurse it was because I was dehydrated. I drank up & have been fine. I am getting almost all of my water in daily & have been feeling dizzy again, so I asked her yesterday. She said that as we lose (Ihave lost 41 lbs since surgery) there is a fatty thing in the ear that shrinks as well, and can sometimes cause some dizziness for awhile. I don't get dizzy all the time - just sometimes. Hope this helps! Laura
