whats up August losser? how much are you lossing??
I've lost 54 lbs since my surgery on 8/1. I know exactly what you mean about the water. I used to drink tons of water pre-op, usually gulping it, but post-op, I was lucky to get teeny sips down. I always felt like it was stuck in my chest. Just within the last couple of weeks, that has changed. I can now drink normally (no gulping). What a relief! The first few weeks, I thought I would never feel "normal" again.

I know my results aren't typical, but I'm down 75 pounds as of this morning. I'm sure it has something to do with how much I have to lose and being a MAN!
Anyway, greatest decision ever even thoug I'm stll having energy issues. Still sipping water too, if I gulp it tends to put pressure on my chest.
Hi. Same surgery date here too. BUT, unlike you guys, I've only lost 37 pounds. Very frustrating.
I'm finding I can take a more normal sized swallow now. Sometimes I try too much, or just forget that I can't chug anymore. I'm quickly reminded though. LOL
Keep up the good work! You must be doing things right.

Hi, Kina!
Just wanted to let you know I really enjoyed reading your profile.
And I think you are doing great with your weight loss too.You may just not have AS MUCH too loose that's why it's a bit slower.... your body knows better (so does mine and everyone else's) the rate that is safe to loose... really...
... My friend had this surgery last year and lost 70 lb in first 2 mo.....and it was good because she's started from 350..... if you or even I went through the same loss in 2 mo, it would be sick....there is no way that our skin would be able to adjust this fast too....SO.... the point I'm trying to make is..... that everyone looses at their own rate, but majority loose about 80% of their excess weight by about 1 year out..... if all rules are followed...And I think it's great....
Very important thing to me is that This surgery gives you control back. we can choose to eat right and exercise, and do all the other "good staff" and it actually works, and it's working long-term, allowing you to learn "new tricks" and make them your routine... right?
Well, enough rambling, best wishes to you, Rita
I had an open RnY on Aug 12th and I've lost 45lbs as of today... YAHOO my 1/2 way mark .
I had my first wow moment as well! I started at 210lbs (5'1) with 90 lbs to loose and a bad case of type II diabetes. Since surgery my Bsl levels have been stellar w/o meds.
Pre surgery, I was wearing a 1X-2X and just went shopping last night with my teen daughter. As we were looking at pants she mentioned "mom, why are you looking in my section, your section is over there" (the plus size) I laughed, then we went into the dressing room to try on clothes......
I wound up buying a size 10 jeans that are the same size my teen wears! YAHOOOO!
And the sexy undies that I got WOW! No more granny panties for me!
