I had surgery on 8/25 and have lost 45 lbs. It is awesome and I am super happy with the results. I still have my periods and am very regular to the day for 30+ years. I didn't start on Friday so I am either skipping one (which has never happened unless I was pregnant and I am 100% sure I am not) or late for the first time. Is anyone eles having this issue? Diana

Hi Diana, I still had my period on time but they haven't been as heavy has they usually are. My cousin had surgery almost two years age and she said that hers was messed up for awhile. Hope this helps. Debbie

Diana, With rapid weight loss, you are bound to have a few later than normal periods. Mine has been the opposite, it was actually on time for the first time ever! If you don't start within the next 5-7 days I would contact your doctor. Take care and Great job on the weight loss!! Pamela

hi diana! about two weeks after my surgery i started...but i was about 1.5 weeks early. and it wasn't like a normal period...it was more like heavy spotting. it was weird. then my gums started getting sore and would bleed everytime i brushed my teeth. i called the dr. and they said anesthesia will wreek havoc on your hormones and that's probably what it was. the gum thing only lasted about a week. i had my period about a month after the heavy spotting thing happened and boy was it making up for a lost month!! hopefully the next one won't be so heavy. i talked to someone else who said she has been really nauseated by smells and gags everytime she brushes her teeth (kind of like during pregnancy). so anyway...just thought i'd let you know that my hormones went a little loopy on me too. guess it just takes a little time for them to get back in order. have a great day! hello Diana, I had surgery on 8/08 my periods are on time but they are worse than before surgery and I cramp like crazy. I figured my body was paying me back for what I did to it. I hope things improve with time. Jennifer

diana, Like you, I have been regular with my periods i.e. like clockwork. However, since surgery, I am off by about a week each month. Aug. started the Sat after surgery (normal would have been last week of Aug., then in Sept it started the middled of the first week, then this month it started yesterday.) I usually would start on a Frid evening or Sat evening. Now it starts on off days...a Monday in Sept & Tue in Oct. I just have chalked it up to the surgery screwing up my body and hormones. I have been fortunate so far that it is only lasting a couple of days with day 2 still being my heavy day. However, it does seem to be a little more clotty looking...small clots. I just figure my body if sloughing better then before. Hope this helps let you know that normal is wierd right now for us. Lori 293/259.8/140
