We had surgery the same day. I'm down about 35 pounds right now. I really need to up my protein and water intake. I drink a shake for breakfast, soup for lunch, and a "real" dinner. I've been supplementing with the Isopure but I don't drink enough I think in a day. I'm no where close to 60 g protein a day.
How do you get in your protein?
I'm also worried that I may be eating too much. Last night, we went to Red Lobster for my birthday. I had 2 broiled scallops, 2 small shrimp scampi, and 2 mushrooms stuffed with lobster and cheese. That is the most I've ever eaten at one meal. I felt fine afterwards. I just was worried that maybe my pouch isn't a pouch but a goodie bag.
How much can you eat at one sitting? Just wondering.

I am also having a hard time getting all my protein and water in...I drink about 40oz of water and i try to get my protein in by food because i am having a hard time finding protein drinks i actually like. I tried these 3 oz protein vials (http://www.protica.com/store/searchresult.aspx?&Manufacturer=3) , i thought they were perfect ...they tasted good but after i drank it all i started to feel really nausceus... I've tried about 8 different protein powders since surgery and didn't like any of em, just yesturday I bought the unflavored unjury powder and i mixed it with orange juice...it was actually good. So I guess Ima stick to that for now.
I can eat about 3oz in one sitting, sometimes even less....I get full very quickly though.
I want to start going to the gym, and start working out...My surgeon said I can join after 8 weeks...are you going to the gym ?
Jackie,
I have had a couple of days where I have eaten what I thought was alot but usually I am forcing myself to remember to eat. I usually eat about 2 1/2 to 3 oz of food at each meal. I still add Beneprotein to all my foods so I can get my protein in and I drink about 72 oz of water a day. Keep up the good work.

I had surgery 3 days before you and I am losing slow, but steady. I do everything that I have been told to do. I get all my protein in and vitamins and water. I exercise every day. But, it is still coming off. I just get a little discouraged when people aren't getting in all their protein or water and they are losing so much more than me. But, I am losing, so I am going to keep it up. I don't cheat. I am still only eating 5-6 tablespoons of pureed food at a sitting and I talked to my doctor yesterday about it, I was afraid that I wasn't eating enough, I told him I get my protein in two drinks a day and whatever I eat is just extra protein. He said, I was doing great and he was happy. So, I am losing slower, but I can tell, my close are hanging off me and my energy is up and everyone tells me how "Healthy" I look. So, I am going to try and not get all worried about the pounds and concentrate on doing what my doctors says and ensuring I get in all my necessary protein, water, vitamins and food.

Hi - I am a surgery twin with you - 8/22/05. I started at 254 on the day of surgery and am now at 219 - 35 lbs gone. I eat only 3-4 tbsp. of food at a meal. If I eat more, I am uncomfortable. I am also down 2 dress sizes, and over 19 inches. I am thrilled!
Can't wait to get down further!! Get most of my protein and water in each day. Feel great. Walking for exercise. Best thing I ever did for me!!
Hugs, Laura
